scope issues

Did you adjust the ocular focus? My near vision is not good AND I have astigmatism in my right (dominant) eye. I'm still able to get everything clear on my scopes (Hawke and Athlon) without glasses. I don't shoot while wearing glasses due to the Side-Shot scope camera mount gets in the way.

Only one part that I don't understand.......when you said the target is blurry when you adjusted out the parallax. How do you know the parallax was adjusted properly if the target was blurry?

Are you saying that you aren't able to adjust the parallax for a clear target?

Also, to inquire, .....are you using progressive lenses in your glasses? If you are, you MUST make sure that you look through your glasses EXACTLY the same every time. If you center your crosshairs in the top part of your glasses, you will get one distance after you range. If you look through the middle, or bottom of your glasses, you'll range differently, because progressive lenses are different at the top of the lens, as from the bottom. This is why I do NOT wear progressive lenses while shooting field target.

Oh man, yes, progressive glasses are the worst. I tried them this year but couldn't even drive safely with them. I wouldn't even dare try to shoot with them.

Have you tried using less magnification? I've reached the point that I have to wear glasses even with the scope. Adjusting the ocular for range can clear the image and then magnification is dialed in but I'm only using 9 to 12 power. At that things aren't always 'clear' but it's usable for springers at 50 yards.

First, set your parallax to infinity and focus your crosshairs aiming at the sky using your ocular. If you are still having issues put something at 50yrds, set parallax at 50, then use your ocular to get it and your crosshairs in perfect balance/focus. If you are still having issues, send scope back.

My guess would be that this is the problem. If I don't wear my glasses I can't even get the ocular in focus on my cheaper scopes. With my vortex I can, but it is much easier to wear the glasses, adjust the ocular and then the side focus.
