Im happy with them.

Skip the adjustable mounts. Save the $ for your scope. Compensate for droop by bending the barrel if you need to. Get medium height. UTG are good.

The Hawkes are a lot nicer than the little B Buster. I don't need IR. And light compared to others. Airmax is even better but a little heavier and more $. Lifetime warranty.

I don't buy squat from Amazombie. They oppose traditional family values. They can kiss my grits. Look around you can usually match their price.

I too have used and can recommend the one piece mounts from UTG or RWS. As for a Hawke Vantage model scope on a 34 ??? my Vantage models only sit atop pcp or lesser recoiling springers like R7 - HW30. As others have mentioned,, Airmax is a better way to go. Phone Hawke before any purchase and see what they say about the Vantage on a 34 and warranty. Hawke does have a great CS department and should accommodate your questions.

You get what you pay for!! Remember that when buying airgun stuff!! I always go with fully adjustable scope mounts, I prefer the one piece, been using Sportsmatch for over 30 years with no issues!! Most folks that have had great long term sucess with scopes on a high powered springer have spent more money on the scope than the rifle!! A few hundred shots is not a long term sucess, many mfgrs have upped there game on building better scopes for springers, but still wont find many good scopes and mounts for less than your 200 you paid for your rifle.

Don't know what current policy is on Hawke Vantage scopes, but they used to say while they'd cover them under the warranty, they didn't recommend using them on springers over 12 fpe. I have more than a few, all of them mounted on springers that shoot 14fpe or higher and so far, never had an issue. I've always thought part of that is because they all have IR so the reticles are glass etched and maybeeee why they've held up.

Your mileage may well vary if you decide to go that route, so take what I just said with a BIG grain of salt...lol. The step up is the Airmax line already mentioned above. I have 8, 7 mounted on springers, 2 of those being Diana 34's. 2 are 3-9x40's I got from Jeff at Trenier 5 years or so ago when they were first released with the new AMX reticles here in the US, so 5 years, 1000's of shots on the rifles they're on, no issues to date and why I've bought 6 more since those first 2. All but one are mounted in Hawke Match Mount rings and the one that's not is because I wanted silver rings and bought a set of BKL Double Strap rings.

At the end of the day, your money, your rifle, your choice. Also a lot of very good advice given above by shooters who probably have more than my measly 6 yrs back shooting and hopefully some of it helps you decide which way you want to try.

I went with the Hawke AirMax 2-7x32 scope. I really like the reticles in the AirMax models. I think they are the easiest to use for holding over and windage. The size and features really suit the slim magnum springers. For rings,I've had good luck with the double strap BKL rings. I have the BKL-278 MB ( 1" double strap offset dovetail rings ). I have this set-up on my 22cal R-9. Been using it all summer and not 1 issue. I've had issues with the UTG 1piece mount. The problem wasn't that the rings were creeping back in the dovetail but my scope which was 3-9x40 AirMax mounted on 22cal Browning Leverage (B-46) a magnum springer under-lever was actually twisting in the rings. Maybe the scope was too heavy, idk. Let us know what u went with and good luck

I'm close to buying the Hawke AirMax 3-9x40. I've noticed that the RWS lockdown scope mount seems to be too long for these Hawke scopes (even the Hawke rail mounts are too long). So, I will probably go with a pair of Hawke match mounts. My question is, do I need to get any droop compensation although I'm not aware of a problem?

The only droop compensation rail I can find is utg-drooper-scope-rail--11mm-to-weaver-adapter

If I used this, I'd need to purchase weaver scope rings vs. the dovetail rings that would work directly on the gun.
