Scba reg for tethering

Good price. You did well. Are the quick connect fittings on the brass "Y" 1/8" They look large for 1/8. The SCBA fitting on the right is a CGA347 or 346, hard to tell from angle of photo. From the hex shape on the nipple to the end of nipple should be about 150mm or .60 inches for a standard SCBA tank (Scott, MSA, Sperian, etc) That would be a CORRECT CGA347. If shorter, it would be a CGA346 & won't work on standard tanks. Let me know if it's correct. PM me if you need help. I have an assortment of fittings to make it work for you (I'm pretty sure) Your output guage only looks like it's only rated for 200psi output. Check the paperwork & see what the MAX psi OUTPUT rating is on that regulator. Output gauge should be able to handle AT LEAST where your gun's sweet spot max pressure is. I'd put a 3000psi gauge on there (IF regulator output is rated for it!) . ALL those fittings on the right (except for the brass CGA fitting) are not necessary & should be removed. Threaded end of the CGA fitting should go directly into regulator. Gerry 

After studying the picture even more, I believe the brass Y & quick connects are 1/4". It all needs to be stepped down to 1/8" by using 1/4 to 1/8 BUSHING (simplest way) or a 1/4 to 1/8 reducer on a 1/4" close nipple screwed into regulator's OUTPUT. 

It looks like the maximum output is only 200 PSI. OK for pumping up tyres, not much else.

I think Eaglebeak is basing his reply on the 200psi output pressure gauge. Just might be the WRONG pressure gauge. Manual will tell you what Max output is. If not, call or email the mfg & ask.

If it is as described, an SCBA reg, it makes sense for the output pressure to be less than 200 PSI. SCBAs are similar to modern SCUBA systems using two-stage regs. The first stage at the bottle reduces the pressure to a level that the second stage reg. located on the mouthpiece or mask can accurately supply the correct pressure to match the ambient atmospheric or water pressure that is required by the user. I have no reason to believe that the output gauge is not original. It is exactly the same brand and style as the input side. I'm only suggesting that the op checks these details before spending any more money on fittings that will only make a heavier paperweight.

There's nowhere the OP says it's an SCBA reg. I believe it's a 5,000 psi reg with a greater output capacity than 200psi. Maybe it was being used in a situation that only required that low an output. He wants to utilize it for Tethering SCBA tank to gun. Needs to find output specs.

BTW - it's not an "SCBA" regulator. Yes it uses the same CGA-347 valve, but with 2 outputs it's hardly "self contained".

It is a $500 regulator though.
