SCAMMER ALERT !!!!!!! BY SEASONFIRE

"scrane"I recently posted a WTB on AA Classifieds. I received six responses. Five were from obvious scammers and one from a fellow who didn't seem to know what kind of gun he had.
I sorted out the scammers by requesting a photo of the gun that included a note with the seller's name, phone number, and the date in the frame. One of the responder's was outraged at this request. None sent the requested photo.
Avoid dealing with people who cannot spell or use proper grammar. Use PayPal. If you have a bad feeling bail before finalizing the deal.
Just for the record, requesting a photo of the item with a note doesn't guarantee anything. Using Photoshop it can be faked rather easily.

Sorry to hear and thanks for letting us know.

Paypal all the way, if seller doesn't accept it, I buy from someone who does. 100% on Yellow or BOI with ton of feedbacks mean nothing. I always ask the seller to send me an invoice for the item from Paypal, the 3% fee can be negotiated depending on how bad I want the item and how bad the seller wants to sell. F&F means nothing, saving 3% on a 1K+ transaction doesn't make much sense when you have no way to recoup your money. Even when you do receive the item, if it's not in the condition the seller advertised, you get your money back. Most of the time, scammer will back away when asked to do transaction via Paypal; Paypal doesn't pay until the item shipped. When you get the tracking number from seller, check its shipping weight to make sure they're sending the right stuff and notify Paypal right away if something should weight 100 lbs with a shipping label stating 10 lbs on it.

Sorry to hear you were scammed. I actually live in AZ near AOA. I have sold guns on here before and taken them to AOA for shipping. For a small fee (I don't recall how much, I think it was $30.00 but don't quote me), they will ship the gun. That way the new owner is able to verify with AOA they are in possession of the described gun. They obviously will not verify condition or working condition or stand behind anything. They will ship though. It would be cheap insurance to have the potential seller ship to AOA so you can verify its existence. Even if you had to pay additional shipping, I think it would be cheap insurance to have a neutral third party in the transaction.
