SCAM ALERT!!!

I got this same thing happened to me I reported it to Michel but he did not think it was a big deal he told me to just block them. But if you look most of the names are alike initials with numbers. This was the 2 I got trying to scam me their account say California but yet they want you to send to Dominican republic when Michael checked into it was from Taiwan but the One guy looks like he might still be active name vigi88. He also goes under seddes88 I never sold to him because it was to suspicious he was talking to me from both of these accounts pretending to be two different people. But if you look at all these accounts they are all relatively similar initials with numbers next to them.

Most of the replies to my recent WTB ads are the exact same attempted scam; it makes you reluctant to ever post a WTB anymore:

It looks all three of those accounts have been deleted/removed. Not that it would solve everything 100% but newly registered accounts should not be able to access the Classifieds until X number of posts, Y number of days or something.

I ran the 405 number through one of our investigation systems. It came back to a guy named Rob Jake up in Oklahoma City. That said, I didn't follow up or pull a full dossier, but at first glance I also didn't see any other credible information on the guy's identity that we would see on a real person such has utility bills, SSN, DOB, etc. It showed to be fairly current information and it looks like he has had the number since May of 2018. Smells like a scammer, but again, I didn't pull anything more.

It MUST BE lucrative for them to keep on keeping on like this. Probably many members already got scammed by them here and are just too embarrassed to admit it.

I know I've said this before, but people suck.

A week or so ago we got a notice from the state that some douche nozzle had applied for unemployment benefits claiming he had been permanently fired from one of my companies. We had never even heard of this person. I ran a background on the SSN that filed the request and it came back to a guy in another state. Looks like he had his identity stolen and he was completely unaware benefits were being applied for in his name. I contacted the state and got the case denied, but if these thieves are successful in using his identity to get benefits from someone else, he will likely later get a nasty gram from the IRS claiming he didn't claim the money as income and be tagged for taxes on it.

Get this... Years ago (maybe even now still?) Dead people's SS# harvested to obtain SS#s and benefits and CCs. Not sure if that was fixed it there's still cracks in the system... Dead men (or women) tell no tales? I would think a dishonest State or Federal Dept of Health or Vital Statistics or Mortuary worker would have easy access to such confidential information.

It's a numbers game . . . many of us may be onto this ridiculous scheme but there are (hopefully) a very small percentage of people that will fall for it. So the more emails/PM's they send out, the better the chance they have for finding those unlucky souls. Anybody that's been in sales and had to cold-call customers, it takes like 50 dials to get 1 person to talk to you so you just gotta keep dialing and smiling until you find that person. Eventually they'll luck into their next victim and get their payoff - that's what keeps them going.
