Safety Issue?

Sequence is as follows:

Sight-in on target...cock rifle (with lever)...move safety from "safe" to "fire" and rifle discharges immediately after being placed on "fire". This happens before the trigger is engaged/pulled.

This has only happened on 2 modded/power tuned FX Impacts.

Any ideas about the cause? This can be quite dangerous, although I will never again cock any gun while the safety is on.

i had this very problem with my weirach pistol. i believe it's the sear , and your trigger may be adjusted to far.

I had that 2 days ago on my son's Veteran. The trigger rode wasn't pulled enough and every time the safety was engaged or disengaged it would fire when the safety was moved from one position to another. After looking at the trigger mechanism, I saw that the first stage adjustment spring had to be under tension to hold the trigger in the fully rested (forward) position for the safety to not activate the trigger and break the sears.
