SAD DAY IN THE UK

BIGDAVES
BRO I dont live in UK a friend told me what happen there he live in UK his name jack his spirit is crush he stop plinking with air gun all together he fed up I really don't blame him
an I will keep good fight the anti gunner will louse second amendment is our rights England they like same freedom as we do but there knives is banned and jack piss about that too

I live in Northern Ireland and we have some of the strictest gun laws in Europe, ALL air rifles require a FAC here, so we really don't bother with the sub 12 ft lbs stuff here unless you fancy a bit of field target.
There was a war on here for over 30 years and as you can see the strict gun laws really stopped the terrorists getting their hands on assault rifles.
But, the shooting scene is good here and I'm out hunting every Saturday morning.

Just remember, the Citizens of the United States can thank the British for the 2nd Amendment. It was the British that attempted to confiscate the muskets, that forced locals to billet troops and such, so those safeguards were written into the constitution. The British have had those kinds of laws for many many, many years. If we in the USA give up the protections in the constitution, that's our problem.

By the way, the ban on knives is only in the city of London, and it's only on the delivery of certain types due to a bit of a surge in the murder rate. You know, rivaling New York kind of murder rate this year. I guess it just shows that you don't always need a gun to hurt someone. It really is the person behind the weapon. I can use a knife to prepare food or do something wrong.

I lived in the UK about 40 years ago. London was at the time one of the safest cities I'd ever seen. Now not so much, and that fed directly into the Brexit decision because much of the crime came with wave after wave of immigration. That caused a clash of cultures. Different cultures value life differently.

I think the thread is a rambling concern that something might be changing in the UK Airgun laws and referenced the changes London wanted to make to the delivery of certain knives favored by criminals.

I am unaware of any proposed changes to UK Airgun Laws at this point in time.
The UK Laws seem to be stable, with only the changes in Scotland a couple years ago making any news.

My own comments above were about the changes in safety in London. Granted, when I lived in London, the IRA was lobbing grenades around downtown, but I felt perfectly safe there, living in Kilburn (also called, Little Paddi Land) at the time. The references to knives were in respect to the April articles in the US press about the London murder rate, mostly by stabbing, equaling New York City, which isn't good.

I don't believe it's a sad day in the UK for airgun owners at all. Just a continuation of normality, really don't know where the thought airguns were in trouble came from.

Long winded explanation, sorry bout that, sometimes I type faster than I think (sad isn't it??)

You can't even spell your countries name right and you're worried about knife laws on another continent. Ok.
