Sacramento airgun shooting area

Hello airgun nation.
Do you guys know where can I play my airgun in the Sacramento? I don’t have a larger back yard or farm. I like to shot some squirrel, Voles, and Pigeon. What ever is legally to shot. And I don’t have a hunting license. Do I need a hunting license to hunting these Harmful animals? What is the legal advice if I want to play airgun in the Sacramento? Thank you airgun natioan.

Unless you get permission on private properties you MUST have a hunting license to shoot anything on public land. Must check each area's specific restrictions too because for the most part they all do if near any sort of population. If you get deep into national forest in the sierras then you are mostly clear with a hunting license. Easiest thing to do is just go to a shooting range. Sacramento county you can't even shoot slingshots.

I live by Elk Grove, can I shot in my back yard? If I shot in the private area like somebody else farm then I don’t know hunting license right?

To the OP- when it comes to hunting regs, do your due diligence and research the regs on your own. Asking advice on the internet, there’s too much to try and decipher(no offense meant to QBall for assisting).

From your responses it appears you’re trying to elude getting a hunting license. If you’re going to pull a trigger on any life form, do yourself and all a favor and take a hunters safety course and get your license after with that certification.

Personally, if I was the farmer with pests on a ton of my land that I needed eliminating, I would only allow folks on my property with a license because it shows me that that person took the time to get himself educated on firearms use and safety. In that course they also cover hunting on land with permission from the land owner, and all the proper etiquette that goes with it.

Good advise @bigragu, I was trying to redirect OP to do more research on general hunting regulation and area specific regulations. Hunting is very complicated here and ticket could be huge.

Hey I went to Sacramento river today and have fun, I was at my land, the back is the river, Can I shot them as you can see? And do I need the hunting license if I shot at the back of my land? My friend was finishing over there but did not get anything. Do I need the finishing license to finish in my back of land too? I did not shot these ducks today. Cause I was worried if I will break the law or something.

I will google now how to take the hunting court and study safety questions. Thanks you bigragu. Now I consider hurting is more serious and complicated projects.

forgot to mention this, go take 100% online Nevada hunter education course. It is accepted by CA fish and game for the license. I had heck of time trying to figure out how to get CA hunter education courses.
