RWS D56 177 cal + Benjamin Discovery HP pellets

I figured out that my barrel just needed to be re-leaded after a cleaning. I'm getting good groups at 35 yards with B Discovery 10.5 gr HP pellets, Crosman Ultra Mags 10.5 dome pellets, AA 10.34 pellets, and JSB 13 gr redesigned monster pellets. Here's a 12 shot group at 33 yards with the Discovery HP 10.5 gr pellets. I settled on 12 shots because I was just seeing if I would get a flyer. When I got to 12 I decided that there was no need to keep shooting.

Nice.

Got a lefty rws48 set up for for FT (being a 100% pre-charged airgun type) and tried sighting it in the first time with not too good results using all pellets I had, jsb seemig best.

Have a friend who's a national champion in springer class stop by to lend expertise and he kindly said "that's a springer group" " not too bad" and even he did not measure things is

"15 shot group" Very nice indeed, crittters need fear you and your's.

John

would'nt mind seeing a real world 56 picture.

I judge the D54 and D56 accuracy the same as a PCP. The sliding breech removes almost all of the recoil (shooter feels) so you can get great groups. I'm not a paper puncher and most of my shooting is plinking at long range with PCPs. I took this D56 out Sunday and I was hitting bottle caps (laying flat on the ground) at 60 - 65 yards with no problem. You can even see the flight of the pellets with D54s and D56s.

How about two D56s and a D54?

Nice consistent shooting, and good looking rifles. I see you are running the ZR mounts on them. Are they the accurized versions from Hector Medina?

Hang onto those rifles. The D54 and D56TH are soon to become classics as they are no longer being made. I picked up a second 56TH as soon as I found out they were being discontinued.

No my mounts are straight from PA. I plan to hold onto them. One of the D56s is a 25 cal and I haven't seen anyone else on the forums that have a 25 cal. And it is a tack driver.

I was almost going to get one of those .25 cal D56's. I couldn't quite swallow the price. I'd like to hear about yours particularly the fps you get out of it.

I do have a .22 cal D56 but mine rocks laterally on the rails. I'm jealous of people with a D56 that works as it should.

I may send mine off to Hector to see what he can do with it. I've narrowed it down to one of the holes for the rail was drilled a bit bigger than it should be.

Story of my life.

I shoot H&N FTT. They are 19.9 gr at 750ish fps.

Did you tune it or is it factory stock? If you tuned it what size spring did you use and how may coils?

Hi all, gonna chime is as I have one of the few FANG Diana 52/T06s in .25 , apart from some other Diana' models. Part of the arrangement back then when O.C. Bowling put the deal together, was for Vortek to install their full power PG2 kits after the 52s landed on the US mainland, which they did, before sending to the new owners. I got mine a few years ago, shot a few rounds (50-100) and put her away till today. Back at the time, I installed a Bushnell Legend 5-15x40, zeroed in at 27 yds with H&N Field Target Trophy 19.91s, and left it at that. After reading about all this renewed interest in 48s, 52s, 54s & 56s, I took her out today to do her stuff. Again with H&N 19.91s, first shot was 1/4 in low at 27yds, corrected, a few more shots, and, all's well that ends well. After that........a nice little group What a sweet shooter! Anyhow, after a few shots chronied her and these are the results, note that the new innards/rifle are still not properly broken in: average speed in 10 shots:759, ES: 34, FPE: 25.4. Going back to the range again next week, she's got to do better...................😁
