RWS 34 / RWS 3400. What's the difference ?

In a post near here by member xenos I recommended the RWS 34 for the ? posed by xenos. I had stated that I am about to receive a RWS 3400 from AOA. A faint alarm bell was going off but I ignored it. Then I saw a response to that post from GlodenStateAIRGUNer pointing out my error. The RWS 34 and the RWS 3400 r 2 different models.(Thx GSAer). What r the differences? So I went looking for reviews/comparisons about the the RWS 3400 that I bought and should be showing up soon and I really can't find anything on the RWS 3400. I'm sure there is a member here who can bring me up to speed on this. Thx

Well ! Thanks for the mention! The difference I see between the two is mainly the stock. The 3400 has the nicer stock with pistol grip checkering. And what I like also about the 3400 stock is the rubber butt pad. The 34 is hard plastic. The 3400 comes in either a spring or gas ram power plant. Power is identical to the 34.

From what I’ve heard from owners, and distributors, the 3400 is a modge podge of leftover parts that rws has after Diana cut ties with their company for distribution of Diana guns in the USA. the 3400 has walther parts as well as rws/Diana parts and shows very little in common with the d34. I haven’t heard any tests of accuracy or longevity yet, so guess you will have to enlighten us on your findings there. Good luck!

The parts and pieces have been covered by posters above but yep, nothing to do with Diana. The guess is RWS, which is nothing more than a distributor, would like you think so with the names they used since there are 2 rifles, the RWS 3400 which is a springer and the RWS 3500 which is a gas ram, neither of which have anything to do with the Diana 34 or 350. They were supposed to be a new entry from RWS to the break barrel market but as already mentioned, nothing more than left over parts from the Walther rifles.

German parts, Italian stock, assembled here in the US and according to a post made by Tyler Patner on another forum, both were a 1 time deal and once they sold out, there wouldn't be anymore. Which will likely leave owners scrambling to figure out what to use for parts when the time comes they'll be needed. You can probably measure both piston seal and spring dimensions and come up with something from ARH based off them.

I have a 3400 in 22 and I have owned several 34 in the past ....the 34 has abetter trigger but the 3400 has a better stock. Both guns have the same quality barrels but I find the 3400 gas ram a lot easier to shoot with less recoil. The power on these guns are very much the same ....no idea why the 34 doesn't at least come with a rubber butt pad so you can lean it against the wall . When I checked the 3400 on the chrono I was amazed how consistent it was .
