RWS 34 First 10 M accuracy test

Had a little time so I decided to see what the 34 could do for accuracy. Had to shoot from a wicker laundry basket as a rest for my sandbags. Not that stable. This is probably one of the most accurate break barrel airguns I've shot ! The T06 trigger is probably the big reason. I love my Sig but the 34 is more accurate. At 10 M anyway. Shot five JSB 8.44 gr randomly picked from the tin. Four shots nearly in the same hole. One shot maybe 1/8 inch to the left of the other four. I'm impressed. This at 940 fps.

Nice shooting! I havent tried my sig at 10M, but now i might have to. Challenge accepted...

Because of the black permanent marker I used on the paper plate the picture doesn't do the group justice. Four of those 5 shots covered an area about the size of a pea. I shot it at 9X magnification. One of the best I've done at 10M with the Sig is below. Five shots with the 14.7 gr Crux lead.

Been close to a year now

I'm still curious about the power of my 34. Is it real or am I under some false delusion on it's current power? Decided to shoot five shots over my chrony this morning . Been close to 60 shots since I lubed the rifle.

I've found, for me, a fairly big curve learning to shoot my asp20. Not sure why, but once I "got it", it became a tack driver. Before that, I put over 1500 rounds kind of frustrated. The last 4000 or so rounds have been wonderful.

The rifle is rated 1000 fps with light ( 7 gr range ) pellets.

I read Tom Gaylord's review of the ASP20 and his technique to shoot it accurately. Basically, they artillery hold. I seem to have equal results whether I rest the forearm on my open palm or directly on the sandbag. Right where the cocking slot ends which seems to be the balance point of the rifle. My issue with accuracy and the Sig is the trigger. Mine just has to much creep for my liking.

For me, the artillery hold doesnt work that well. Sandbag either there or slightly in front of balance point, but my guess foy you is I agree with the trigger assessment. I have said from the beginning that my particular trigger is awesome. No creep at all. Perfect out of the box. I always wonder about variability in qc, tolerances, ect. I'd also argue my trigger has actually gotten BETTER as I've used it.
