Russian Jager Evo XP .22 PCP

Ammunitionstore.com has a few of these incredible rifles in stock. This is a non-regulated model but is INCREDIBLY accurate thanks to its LW barrel and fantastic match grade single stage trigger. It has a 10 round spring loaded magazine that is held in place thanks to magnets. Backyard friendly with a threaded moderator that is removable. 220 bar cylinder and adjustable butt plate on a very nice thumbhole ambi stock. $795.00

Thanks for the post RTNAV3. I pulled the trigger on one soon after your initial post, and may have gotten the last one the shop had from this particular batch. Looks to be an interesting little rifle, and I like the "Brocock Compatto" look of it. Plus it was listed at $749 instead of $799, so with shipping (it shipped this morning) I'm into it for less than $775 - A real bargain in today's airgun market.

I understand that this gun is pretty much an orphan with no real U.S. support, but in my experience Russian guns are relatively simple to work on, so if I can get the sizes of o-rings I need I should be good to go in the future. Too bad Darko doesn't make mags or single shot loaders for these, but maybe something can be adapted.

I read where you really need the right scope for these rifles due to the short mounting rail length and relatively short stock. I've got one of the MTC zero eye relief scopes on hand, and understand that it should work pretty well on this gun.

I still don't know too much about these. I had briefly looked at them in the past, but hadn't spent too much time researching. Not a lot out there for research anyway. It should be an interesting experience. Thanks again.

Excellent move! The Barracude 18 pushed at around 900 fps goes into the same hole at 25 yards. I am pretty sure mine came with some o-rings. As far as the scope goes...I have a fixed 6 power Leupold with FX no limit rings (pic style) and have no issues with eye relief and I am 6' 2" with pretty long arms. Well designed stock. I put a custom cocking handle on mine (Bagnall & Kirkwood) as the cocking lever has a small hole already in it. The handle had to be mounted upside down but works great. One heads up about the magazine...it is a little finicky The bolt will not close after the 10th pellet has been fired. Also- if the bolt will not close on pellets 1-9 pull the handle back gently and give the mag loading wheel a little nudge counter-clockwise to move the pellet a smidge. Until you get famialiar with the mags quirks, cycle the action SLOWLY so you get a feel for how it chambers a pellet. And lastly...the safety. Move the lever to the rear to block the trigger, forward to fire. The gun will not cock with the safety on.

And questions just send me a message. Have fun!

Wow, if you aren't afraid of dealing with essentially an orphan gun, GET ONE OF THESE! There is nothing about it that I don't love, and the Ammunition Store apparently still has some stock of these listed at $750 + shipping (about 20 bucks to California).

I received mine on Friday, but wasn't able to shoot it until today. I didn't even clean the barrel, just shot 18.13's right out of the tin feeding from the magazine. Not a single issue with the mag feeding (knock wood). This gun is light, very nicely balanced, smooth action, great trigger, quiet, accurate, and seems to make its own air. If this was a regulated gun (it isn't) I would be very happy with the shot-to-shot consistency and ES over 70 shots! I filled it to 220 bar, but I might try 210 or 200 in the future and only get 50 great shots.

Breezy this morning, blowing from between 2:00-3:00. Took 4 shots to get into the bull of target 1, then proceeded to shoot 5 each 5 shot groups at 25 yards. I'm just getting used to the gun, but I'm more than pleased with the results. The trigger is light and single stage, but one mark of a good trigger is that I didn't even think about it when shooting. In fact, I had to dry fire it when writing this to even confirm that it was a single stage trigger.

(dang, still can't post pics on AGN at the moment. But had 2 groups in the .23" range, 2 in the .34" range, and one at .48").

Then refilled the gun and shot a full chrony string. The 70 shots could be covered with a dime center-to-center. Seems this gun was tuned at the factory to shoot JSB 18's.

(Insert pic of chrony string here. Started at 856 fps, rose to 895 fps, then dropped off until I hit 842 fps on shot #70).

BTW: My new gun from the Ammunition Store had a manufacturing date in 2016, but it holds air great, and these seem to be of a pretty simple design to work on when necessary. Didn't know whether it would come with the single shot tray, but it did. The SINGLE issue with my gun is that the WIKA gauge reads maybe 20 bar too low. But it should be easy to replace.

Sure would like to post pics, but you will have to use your imagination right now.

Thanks to all of you who posted & contributed to this thread, and who recommended this gun. At $750 these are a steal.
