Russian Air Rifle (RAR) VL-12 full Info Review

NEW VIDEO .25 CALIBER

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi AirgunNation people! Long time no see! Here is my new video of hunting and review of Russian Air Rifle (RAR) VL 12. Not many people know about this gun. I watched on youtube and couldn’t find some review in English. I hope that I’ll introduce you this air rifle and you get to know something about it. I’ll post pictures of shooting and hunting. Also write your expression or comments what you think. Or may be some one owns this gun also? I’ve created two topics on this forum because video covers both reviewing the gun and hunting. People who wants to see review could see it, and people who loves hunting could see some hunting action. Thanks!

I liked the look of those guns when I first saw them last year. It's a shame they aren't available in America. I think that the minimalist tactical look with AR grip compatibility would really appeal to a lot of people here if the price was right.

The only thing I don't like with the design is that there is nothing protecting the air cylinder. I am always worrying about scratching the anodizing on the air tubes with my Cricket and it drives me mad. I hate scratches and I have no way of repeairing anodized surfaces.

This thing would look awesome with a slotted quad rail handgun at the front and it would protect the tubes and make it so you don't have to lean on them.

Hi! Thanks for the respond. Why you don't have them in America?

They sold here in Russia and other post Soviet Union countries like a non weapon with certificate that tells that it is a "TOY GUN". Really I am not kidding. If you'll import them to USA, you'll import a toy. But after you should make an easy upgrade to make it a real gun... ;)))

"iride"What's the cost of that toy gun? I bet the weight is good, 4 or 5 LBS.
I am going to gamble and bet its got a toy CZ barrel on it,
I got tired of waiting on a good 177 Bull Pup and took a gamble on a turkey gun.
We will see, soon.
Mike
I've bought my long version for 600 USD. Also it comes with Crosman barrel, Good Barrel & Lother Walther. The last one LW, is price little higher then others. I own this gun with LW 450 mm barrel without choke.

If you take a look at the blurb on their website, they gave the impression that they were set up to offer a decent quality PCP at a lower price point for the Russian people (such noble fellows!).

I ask Kalibrgun about them a while ago because they were listed as the main contact on the RAR site. They gave me the impression that the owner was less than organized and that getting a reliable supply going to support global distribution was not on the cards any time soon.

That was last year and I have no idea if anything has changed recently. I haven't heard of any US stores asking people to pre-order so I assume it's not expected here.

Even if it was imported, I doubt it would retain it's attractive price point. You can order a JKhan bullpup direct from the factory (with LW barrel) for less than $400 but they are more than double that by the time they reach a US webstore.

I think they look look a bit like the Cricket with a different stock. I would like to just get a stock like that for my Cricket. I don't need another new bullpup. I actually used the RAR design to influence a few stocks I made because I liked it so much.
