Ruger Air Hawk Elite II....Anybody own one..??

I bought mine about a week ago. I removed the cheap scope it came with and replaced it with a Bushnell 3x9x40. What a
major difference! I was shooting tin cans full of water at 60yds using Crosman Premier 7.4gr pointed pellets. They
went right through the can and water. Every shot. And today I shot a penny at 20yds. First shot; Cut the penny in
half..! This is an EXCELLENT shooter for $99.00. I highly recommend putting a better scope on it.

If anyone does own one please reply.

Thanks.

I had an Air Hawke Elite and I had a MUCH different experience with it. It sheared multiple scope mount pins/setscrews and I could guarantee that it would not hit whatever the scope was centered on. I'm glad to hear that you're getting better results. They must have made significant changes to the 2nd generation models. I'd be curious to know if the scope stays put on yours.
Just looked at it... Yeah, it's gas piston now vs. the old style of spring piston. No wonder your getting better results.
Happy Shooting!

It is the newer generation Elite II. It has a TNT Nitro Gas
Piston system. It is dead on with every shot since I put on that Bushnell scope.
I installed a see through riser scope mount on it so I can use the iron sights at close range.
I am really impressed with this gun so far. With the new scope and riser mount; I have about
$170.00 invested in this. The gun also came with a factory mounted long steel picatinny rail which is
solid and secure.

AK I have tried several and am apparently SnakeBit when it comes to that rifle !!!!
Tickled for you that you have such a nice shooter !!! Best I can tell from folks I've heard from its a coin toss as to whether you get a good one .
If you get a chance try the JSB 10.3 pellets in it ...They showed the most promise in the last one I shot .Nice post man

Joe: I have seen your videos on YouTube. They are ALL good ones..!! I have been into air rifles since I got
my Benjamin 312 22cal back in 1973. I still have it and it looks and still shoots like new. I am now 58 and
still love air rifles to this day. The Air Hawk Elite II is the latest improved version of this gun. Maybe I got
lucky OR they did improve it to make it much better.

I have a large assortment of pellets of all different brands. The best tight groups at all distances was
the Crosman 7.4gr Premier Pointed pellets. This is also the pellet I used to cut that penny in half at
20 yards.

Thanks for your posting.

Had many clones as Ruger,Crosman,Bam and Xisico. Joe knows my opinion. I can't say much for out of the box being good shooters? Most out of the box are super lubed up and I never took one apart that had a good piston seal in them. But you can see this issue with mane brand guns.

I've worked everyone I have owned. After my guides, tophat, barrel crown work, seals and more all have made great shooters. They by no means have the build quality as the real name brands but for the money not bad. Great after some attention.

"JoeWayneRhea"AK I'm gonna have to try the Elite 2 and see how she does . I've got a budget springer on the way I'm anxious to test . And thanks for the compliment about my videos ...Lol
They aren't fancy , but I try and keep it real :)
This Elite II can be found at Walmart where I bought it. I have NOT seen it online at Cabela's,
BassPro, Academy, or anywhere else. It is the latest version of the Air Hawk. It was made
by Umarex for Ruger. I shot this again tonight in at my range today; Still putting very tight
groups from 10 to 20 yards.
If you have any Joe; Post some vintage Benjamin pump rifles on your YouTube page...
I have a 1967 Benjamin 312 that is in like new condition and shoots like new. Older
technology that shoots 700fps. NOTHING like today's break barrels...AK

I just bought one a couple of months ago. Its turning out to be a nice rifle. I haven't christened it with its first kill yet, but I'm sure I will now that I have it sighted in. At first it wouldn't shoot well at ALL. But as I have learned from previous experience with several break barrel rifles, they take time to become broken in and you also have to find the right hold and trigger pull for that specific rifle. My most accurate and favorite rifle is my Gamo Swarm Maxxim .22 with Crosman Premier Hollow Points. It is devastating on fuzzy tailed wire strippers out to 25 yards with headshot after headshot dropping them. But back to the Ruger Air Hawk Elite 2. I hope to find some way to adjust or modify the trigger to tighten up the groups.
