Tuning rti prophet performance regulator rebuild?

Update from this end:

All -- I've got a new reg inbound from AOA via Mr. Rob @RTI. ( they must have some sort of agreement where RTI reimburses AOA for every item they ship out under warranty or something? AOA ain't sending out reg's for free . . . . )

@scotty1 -- hows it holding up?

All -- I did (more or less) what @davecole said he did with his. With my bottle filled to 260'ish, I started upping the reg 5-10 bar at a pop and then dry firing it at each of those 5-10 bar adjustments. 140 -->150, dry fire 2 or 3 times, 150 --> 160, dry fire 2, 3 times, etc .... up to a little over 200 bar. Then I walked it back down the same way -- 200 -->190, dry fire x2, 190 -->180, dry fire 2x . . . I meant to walk it back down to my starting point @140 but I overcooked it and it wound up at around 110. I turned it back up to 140 and dry fired it several times to verify that's where it was - giving it 10 seconds or so between shots to settle - and when it appeared to in fact be @140 I bagged it for the evening. That was 3 or 4 days ago and I've (actually) been shooting it at some of my farm permissions - it's holding.

This leaves me in a conundrum - I have a new one inbound . . . hopefully it *is* better, assuming a newer model than the OEM one I have. Hopefully it has the new internals like @scotty1's - they're sending me the entire reg - not just the internals. Prior to doing the @davecole ( hey - it's like a gymnastics move - you have something named after you now - lol! ;) ) it wasn't holding a set point for more than a couple of hours - it was constantly creeping. ( knock on wood ) As mentioned above - it's been holding, rock solid no less, for 4 days now.

well got my new reg internal and to say the least ill not be fitting them as it same as whats already in time for an aftermarket reg i rekon

... wasn't Hajimoto ( and Orion ) doing a joint build of a 3rd party reg for the rti? Using a paintball one I think ( maybe . . . ? )

Yep... Haji has them listed now, that are in stock. He has a note saying once there gone.. there gone.. im assuming he wont be messing with the nija flex adjustable reg, I was looking at them last week before I decided to go with the standard preset RTI reg.

Just got a new Prophet 2. It’s got about 10-15 bar creep. The problem with the p2 is the balanced valve operation so if the plenum pressure creeps up a bit it won’t fire, well it just manages to spit the pellets into the suppressor. I’m trying to fit a digital gauge to monitor the issue better.

im trying to figure out from the diagram and your pics on here, exactly how this reg works. The piston area looks huge. Where does the bottle pressure meet the inlet valve?
On my Wildcat reg, the inlet area is microscopic to reduce the influence of the bottle pressure, see the pics. The inlet valve is about 0.4mm. The brass bit pushes on the center of the black plastic bit.

Hi everyone this is my first post here, I also got a new Prophet 2 performance and I am suffering of massive reg creep I got mine from rti slovenia I get around 10 bar creep In a few hours this is unacceptable as my first 2 shots are always a dud. Did anyone figure out a solution I thought this gun didn't suffer from this issue that's why I picked it instead of the P1.

Thanks!

A question. Does the large oring provide the seal for the seat disk? If so, that appears to be another place creep can happen. Also, if that is the case, both sides of disk need to be smooth.

Dave
Im not sure if that O ring is sealing on the plastic disk or its an edge seal for the metal ring. Ive fixed a few types of regulator but still cant figure out exactly how this one works.
