Interesting how it arrived. Got a notice that I was going to get a shipment from AOA Tuesday between 4-6. I sat myself so I could see the street and take delivery of the package. Saw the UPS truck roll right on by my house. I checked all 3 doors and the garage and no package. Went back on line and UPS said they delivered it at 4:30. I tried to contact UPS and what a littany of crap. Gave up and called AOA this morning. I explained the situation and they said they would get on it immediately. If it couldn't be resolved quickly they would send me another rifle 2nd day air. They were confident they'd find it and although it wasn't a fun call to make they remained calm and knew exactly what to do.
I sold a rifle in the classifieds and took it into the city to get it shipped. I was gone a couple of hours and when I got home and I walked INSIDE my kitchen there was a box leaning against the kitchen counter that was obviously the rifle. We are rural and don't lock houses very often. Somebody, neighbor, UPS, Gremlins brought that package in my house and placed it in the kitchen. It will be interesting to find out down the road how that got there.
Now the fun part. I began to open the container and found the gun was inside a decent plastic case. (Picture below) I opened the case and there's a picture of what I found. My first impression is it's built like a tank and weighs about the same. It is heavy. My other PCPs are a Leyla 2.0 and a Taipan Veteran Shorty. So I have experience with smaller lighter rifles. There's a video of the designer of the Edgun taking the scope off his gun and driving over it with his truck a couple times, He picked it up and went shooting. I think the Prophet could survive the same test.
Tried the trigger a couple of times and it's fine. There are two small holes to get inside the rifle to adjust tension and travel. I started setting it up, the other two pictures, and put a Donny FL Koi on it. It has a loud bark without a moderator. Thinking ahead RTI made the end of the barrel ready to accept the moderator if you choose to use one. No need to go hunting and buy and adapter. I got the scope mounted and am checking relief. I found something I am going to have to change. The plastic extension on the butt end, stock end, of the rifle wants to slide down the front of my shirt and won't stay where it should for a good cheek weld. If that end piece had a rubber covering the issue would resolve itself. However, having slick plastic on something that you hold next to your body and expect it to stay there doesn't make sense.
First time I ever played with RTI magazines. They are really simple but I think the pocket the pellet goes into is going to need some attention as unless you push really hard the crown of the pellet stays up just far enough to catch on the magazine opening and then you can't rotate to get the next pellet in. I think I read somewhere about that. Oh the factory or somebody put it on a chrono and sent the results. It is shooting about 930 FPS and the spread for the 10 shots was only 7 FPS. Just for giggles...the serial number is 00057.
