Rowan engineering single shot loaders now available for Brocock compatto

I have been in contact with Derek Rose from Rowan Engineering regarding their single shot loaders. I wanted one for my Air Wolf and asked him if they had plans for the Compatto. He informed me a couple weeks ago that they would have single shot loaders for the Compatto within a couple weeks. I just checked their website today and they are now selling the Compatto loaders. I ordered one for both my Air Wolf and my Compatto. I have read and heard good things about their products and can't wait for them the loaders to arrive so I can try them out. Just a little FYI for anyone looking for something like this for their Compatto.

I have one on my Air Wolf - you will love it; so much better than the Daystate tray. I really don't miss using the magazine for target shooting, but for field use the magazine is the better choice. Its a very elegant engineering solution, but that's what Rowan excel at. Post when you have tried it out. I think Rowan deserves better exposure in US.

For a couple months now I have used the Rowan single shot loaders I purchased for both my compatto in .177 and my air wolf in .22. I have had zero problems with either one. The fit and finish of both is superb. As you can see in the pictures of the air wolf it pretty much looks like it is a factory designed piece and integrates beautifully with rifle itself.

The loader for the air wolf utilizes the rifles magazine advance mechanism to pop the loading tray open when the bolt is pulled open. Pull back the bolt and the shot tray springs open ready for you to load a new pellet. The loader for the air wolf can be mounted so that the loading gate opens on either side of the breech if you prefer one side over the other. As can be seen in the pictures they have embedded a couple magnets to keep the loader aligned and seated properly in relation to the barrel.

The only thing that did happen with the loader for the air wolf was operator error. A couple of times after closing the loading tray on the air wolf I forgot to close the bolt. Pull the trigger and you get a loud pop right in your ear. Only happened a couple times for me to remember to close the bolt.
On the compatto loader there is a small thumb lever / knob that you push on and the loader flips open.

Then you have to manually close the loader. For some reason I never had the problem of forgetting to close the bolt on the compatto after I closed the loader. As can be seen in the pictures the compatto loader is a little beefier due to the required thumb lever used to open and close the loader. The loader for the compatto only mounts on the one side of the rifle due to the required groove in the loader that slides over the barrel crown protruding into the breech space on the rifle.

There are also a couple small pins on the bottom of the compatto loader to keep it in place and properly aligned.
Every single pellet that has fit into the loaders, loaded beautifully into their respective barrels. So far with several hundred pellets through each, I have never had a pellet hang up or fail to load. In my opinion these loaders function better than the single shot loading trays available for each. Pellets positively seat into the loader. Once inside the loader I never had a pellet fall out. It felt easier to me to push the pellet into the loader than try and pinch and fumble with a pellet on a loading tray. I have had pellets flip side ways and even roll off a tray. All in all I have been very happy and satisfied with using them. In fact I shoot more with the single shot loader than with a magazine. In short these are precision fit loaders that have performed flawlessly for me up til now. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a single shot loader for either one of these rifles. Sorry I don't have any pictures of the loader on the compatto as it is in the shop being checked / tested for a potential slow air leak. I will post pictures of it later when it returns.
