Ring help and or suggestions

So im new here....
Ordered a gauntlet and a CVlife scope 6- 24x50. On amazon the rings for the scope were a free gift and they didnt provide and info, i shouldve asked but i didnt and they dont fit.

They mount to scope 100% but are to big for the dove tail.
So it was a $30 scope and new mounts would be maybe $10/15?

Should i return and get another cheap scope with the correct mounts?
Or should i just buy good mounts because the mounts that come with are trash and may not hold zero?

So if i should get new mounts for a $30 scope which would you recommend?

I did find these... Lirisy 1" Dovetail Scope Mount Rings Medium Profile for 11mm Dovetail Rails (2 Pieces) on Amazon $10

Thanks for any help

well if i was in your situation you can get either new rings for a picatinni rail $10 make sure you get the correct scope tube size its gonna b either 30 mm or 1 inch or u can get a dove tail to picatini adapter and mount your scope $10 ,,,if its me i send the scope and rings back and get something a step up you will have way more fun and probably end up doing it anyway ,,,i would either look at HAWKE VANTAGE 3 9 40 or UTG bug buster that comes with rings around $100 always wanted to try the bug buster good reviews then cancentrate on getting air for ur gun used 74cf tank and valve set up under $200 and a scuba shop to fill it and u r set until u upgrade good luck pat

If you bought a CV Life scope, check eBay. Cheap mounts start at $3 if you are willing to wait 6 weeks from China, or the same mounts State Side are $6 or so. I've used them, they work. Not the best things in the world, but they work.

The problem with a Scope really is the Zero. Something like the CVLife might need to be shimmed, so if you bottom out the scope and it still shoots high, look up how to shim a scope. It's real easy and allows you to keep the scope a bit closer to being optically centered. It will work better for you if not bottomed out.

Amazon has rings starting at $7 or so. I'd just buy new rings and be done with it. Even Walmart has 1 inch rings for under $10. Cal-Ranch if one is close to you also sells dove tail rings for 1 inch scopes for around $8. Just buy new rings.
