Results of my sighting in Benjamin XL 725 .25 Cal

First off, thank you all for the advice about sighting in this new gun in one of my previous threads. I was very pleased with the results. After trying 5 different brands of pellets the ones that shot best were the Diablo King Exacts in the 25.93 grain.

My results were as follows.

The gun was zeroed in at 35 yards. It also has a near zero crossing at 18 yards. The group is not perfect at 3/4" to 1" at 35 yards, but I understand that its a new gun that needs to be broken in, and the more I shoot it, Im confident the group will tighten more.

At 25 yards I'm 3/4" high and hold under right at (3/4 of a mil dot)
At 30 yards my hold under is (1 1/4 mil dots)
At 40 yards my hold over is (1 1/4 mil dots)
At 45 yards my hold over is about 1 1/2 mil dots)
At 50 yards my hold over is right at 2 1/4 mil dots)

So far I can say this gun shooting those pellets packs a heck of a punch. Most of my shots on Squirrels will come generally between 20-35 yards, so Im feeling really good about this guns potiental to slam them down up to 50 yards. It is a beast of a pellet rrifle.

Again thank you all very much. I will update as I take a few critters on its knock down ability.

just an suggestion, try, if you will, sighting in at the apex of your trajectory and all you your shots will be hold overs. none the less, good shooting bro

Looks like he has it sighted in at the apex, which is is 35 yards. Shorter distance is a hold under because the pellet is still rising to the apex of the arc it is traveling on. Hold over at longer distance because it has pasted the apex of the arc.

If you sight in at a shorter distance, say 20 or 25 yards then most likely everything beyond that will be a hold over because the pellet is doing nothing but dropping at that point. This will increase your hold overs at the longer ranges.

Nothing wrong with hold under if you know your rifle and distance you are shooting. I think you found a happy medium.

Actually after further shooting my Impact points have changed The gun is just starting the break in and settle out. I shot today and my groupings were even more impressive with the same ammo.

Im dead on at 10, 20, and 32 yards. I fine tuned it at 32 yards. It just doesnt seem logical to shoot flat at all those distances but I shot a 7 shot (1/2" groups at each distance), with only one flyer in the 21 shots combined. Now I was using a bench rest to shoot from today, where as yesterday, I was just proped.
At 40 yards, Im one inch low and at 50 yards Im two inches low.

The gun is breaking in nicely and Im ready to test it out on some game. I will update on its accuracy and knock down performance.
