I SURE THOUGHT THE 177 I HAD WAS A SUPERIOT LINER AS I KNOW IT WAS TAGED SUPERIOR LINER IT SHOT THE 10.34 AND 13 GR FX PELLETS REALLY WELL

Ya, they are marked Superior but that’s the extent of it. They do shoot 10.3s the best, but nothing else. They can’t shoot slugs because they are choked too tight. Twist rate-????

the current STX 177 liners shoot the 10.3 and 13.5 grain pellets very well, just need a good tube. It also shoots NSA 12.5 very well and JSB knockout 13.5 grain really well!

this my crown with 500mm barrel shooting nsa 12.5 grain slugs at 950 fps at 100 yards, I know it’s only a 3 shot group but it’s 0.56 inch c2c.

8 shot group at 100 yards, wind switched on me for 3 of the shots, 5 shots clustered at 0.6 inch and 8 shots are a touch over an inch. So yes, STX liners can shoot 177 slugs well but slugs are VERY finicky with the tune.

Once FX comes out with heavy liner with 1:12 twist rate and less choke then it will be a game changer when it comes to slugs because it will be far easier to tune.

FX may call them "superior" on their website, but they are still 1:18 twist and used to be called "pellet liner A"

FX Part number 19964 is a 500mm .177 barrel liner. Used to be called "Pellet liner A" now is called "Superior" liner. Same thing, new name; still 1:18 twist liner

It would seem that the only development that went into creating a .177 Superior liner was to change the name from Pellet liner A. If I am wrong, I would love to hear FX describe the changes made.

The 30 cal has the "superior slow twist" made for pellet competition, how about the same for field target in .177?

I don't think FX put much, if any, development into the .177 caliber. I recently bought a Dreamline Tact Compact with a 300 mm barrel then a 500 mm barrel. Don't know what the twist rate is, but the main problem IMO is the tight choke.. Squeezing a .178 dia pellet or slug down to 172 is way too much. It's pretty hard to get slugs to go faster than pellets, even lighter ones, because there's too much bearing surface on the slugs which slows them down going through that tight choke.
