Here is a review I did of it. Mine shoots the 18 grain JSB’s with the 5.52 head size the best. Sub 1/2″ at 50 yards all day.

Thanks NMshooter! That’s a real nice group you had there as well it’s always one shot isn’t it? My group was 4 in the same hole and one just to the side. Will post some pics once I get my pics from my old phone on my new one. It was one of those days where everything just lined up perfectly. But sub MOA is definitely not hard with these barrels and is very satisfying. If I could take myself out of the equation I think it will shoot same hole out to 50yds easy.

Mac1 is another option. I think they machine LW and TJ barrels for the Marauder. The owner competes and does well in FT and BR. He makes custom target guns as well, so I think it is fair to assume he knows how to make an air gun accurate.
I haven’t bought from him yet but I am considering asking if he can machine a decent barrel for an AT44 for me. I want awesome pics of before and after groups too!
I was just looking at the Marmot site. I am sure they used to machine LW barrels for the Marauder as well as the TJ ones. I couldn’t see that option on their site this time (unless it is under the heading “suspended until I get caught up”).

Something like 17″ in lenght. I like to try one of Tim Hill’s shorter shroud to make the gun more compact but still keep quiet with enough baffles.

I’m sure plenty of people have. I know Jim makes them for the Prod at 16″ that if you wanted instead of the standard 20″ it would still work great.

Now I need to do some research on this effective range. I believe the WAR Flex uses a 17″ TJ barrel with great accuracy and distance but a tension design. Wonder if we’ll get same or close to the same results on a Mrod.

The question is if it’s as accurate as a 22″ or 23″ barrel.
I would be skeptical about the noise being the same with a shorter barrel and shroud. Doesn’t mean it’s not possible. I’ve just been deceived by claims like that in the past. If you decide to give it a try, let us know how it is.
What does a “tension design” mean? Does it refer to how the barrel attaches to the breach?

I ordered a shorter air tube from Tim Hill for one of my Marauder and held off on ordering a 20″ or 22″ shroud until I decide on the barrel lenght.
After talking to Jim Gaska this morning I’m comfortable with going with a 17″ or 18″ using his .22 cal barrels.
I’ll modify my stock shroud until the right length is found before ordering a replacement.

Are you going to make your own shorter shroud or buy one?August 3, 2016 at 12:47 pm LinkI’m going try shorting mine first. I want to see how many baffles I can get away with and still be backyard friendly. If it doesn’t look clean then I’ll order one.

Someone is selling a set of 7 Marauder baffles with spring for $29 shipped on eBay or, $24 shipped if you buy them from the store direct if you want to try making a shorter one to try instead of cutting your existing one.
I’d be inclined to try a larger diameter if my goal from the same noise control from a shorter shroud (like on the Mutant).

Is their anyone on the forum that makes custom lenght Mrod shrouds.
I also don’t mind going larger for backyard plinking but will need to keep it stock looking while hunting on public land. The game wardens here aren’t to nice when it comes to having any type of suppressor that’s not factory made.
