Refinished All 3 of my Walnut Stock Airguns... Impressed myself!

Did you mask over the checkering or did you chase the checkering after the stock dried. I've seen some refinishes and the finish filled in the checkering and it wasn't sharp any more. I like the blond finish but cant see the checkering.
Looks good how long did you have to wait for the finish to harden.

No, I did not mask over the checkering. Minwax Wipe on Poly is very thin. I covered the stippling area in the same way I covered all other areas of the stock. 0% loss of grip, it feels exactly the same as it did unfinished. Actually I made more passes or ensured that I completely covered the checkering area so that the area was coated completely and not spotty. If that makes sense?

24 hours hardening time but I sped up the process with a space heater and a electric fan pointing at the stocks in a closed closet. Hardening time was reduced to 12 hours. Recommend Under normal conditions 70 degrees with low humidity 48 hours.
