The 100 yard difference looks like .7 inch between 0.058 and 0.049 according to chairgun. Past that distance I admit the difference is greater. Pellet bc's are terrible. Slugs should be better. Lots of new info with the Labradar. Michael, I will be at Chuck's house in a couple weeks. Maybe we can all get together and shoot or shoot the bull. Scott

I'd love to get together. Been meaning to meet up with Chuck for a while but we've been playing tag. I'll start a PM between us 3 to coordinate something.

Cheers

I changed a little programming and took the Redwolf back to 100y today.

Seems that a little more velocity does equate to a little more ballistic coefficent

There was a steady L to R breeze and a few gusts as the day warmed up.

I shot 1 target @ 75y & 3 targets at 100y.

The lower row of each target is LOW power, the middle row is MID power, the upper row is HIGH power. I'm quite pleased with the results. I marked the notable groups with a bold marker.

Wow. Great groups at 100y and there just aren’t any wild fliers.

Thanks, it felt like it was shooting pretty good. I wouldn't go as far as to say there weren't any flyers. There were a few 2.5" groups, but I believe most of those were horizontal drift from poor wind reading skills.

Michael... wonderful groups.

Did you change settings on your scope when you changed power levels or did everything remain the same except changing power levels?

Beautiful pup, BTW! Dogs ARE the greatest!

I adjusted the turrets when I changed from 75y to 100y. And made a couple clicks here & there. But I did not change between low medium and high on each card. On hi power I did hold under half a mil on some of them.

That's really interesting because when I change power level settings on my RW .22, without changing anything else, my point of impact definitely changes (higher on HIGH power, lower on LOW power.)

Thats because I reprogrammed all my settings to shoot

High 970

Mid 955

Low 940

😜

Ah ha! I see. 😮

Well, my friend, you are waaay ahead of me, that's for sure!

As much as I'm loving my RW .22, I'll bet you're totally loving that RW .22HP. 😍

That's a pretty dramatic bc difference between the previous high power at 955fps and the current mid power at 956fps.

Can't be velocity related at all.

Do you think it was just due to atmospheric conditions having a big effect coupled with diabolo pellet shape or maybe pellet batch variations? Or perhaps some sample precision issue, although I doubt that.

If it is due to variance in ammo and atmospheric conditions, small wonder finding the best bc value is so elusive and longer range shooting is so hard...

Nice shooting and amazing groups Michael. Looking at your velocity that you can reach, I am very surprised, cause the max mine can reach is 933 fps, no matter what settings I adjust in the programmer. I think my RW is in trouble. And even the accuracy is not consistent. if I fill the gun above 200 Bar, there is no way I can shoot a tight group (50 meters indoor range).

Any thoughts ?

Michael, my 22HP is shooting the Redesigned @938fps on high. Would you suggest a BC input of .051 based on your data?

A programmer is next on my list.

To be honest, i'm not sure i should be including v0 in my calculations. Perhaps v20-v100 would yield more accurate results.

Try .045 - .05 & see which poi comes closest.

I change the programming a bit more to hopefully yield 975, 965, 955 fps.

I didn't chrony it, but I think it's clear that it likes High & Mid power.

I shot quite a few sub 1/4 inch 5 shot groups at 50y yesterday.

I measured the size of the High & Mid power rows:
H = .3, .4, .15, .35, .7
M = .6, .25, .45, .7, .25

Notice how flat the Mid row is, just a little R to L breeze.
