Red wolf type-b, hi lite difference?

Specs look to be otherwise the same including weight. I think the pictures are WRONG because B TYPE stands for bottle type which was the 400cc and 500cc aluminum cylinders and the Hi Lites use the latest higher fill carbon fibre bottles even Daystates website pictures are WRONG. I have several older Airwolf B Types with those aluminum cylinders and two newer Hi Lites with the carbon fibre bottles but weren't designated as official B Types just regular Airwolfs when I purchased them. I feel weird stating Daystate UK is WRONG... Come to think of it the weight spec seems WRONG TOO since the B TYPE would probably be heavier aluminum vs carbon fiber... Yo!

The 230bar you're referring is the SWP - suggested maximum working pressure for best shot to shot consistency early in the shot string in the standard power gun. The bottle is the same as those on a safari /gcu2 with a max fill of 250bar. Filling to that pressure won't damage it - it just won't necessarily give the best performance.

I've honestly never actually seen a red wolf with the aluminum bottle. I've seen the brochure saying they exist and are available but apparently virtually nobody imports or buys them, which I suppose isn't surprising.

Very strange. I just got an Red Wolf. It has the carbon fiber bottle that says 480, but it is not the high power version and the maximum fill pressure is 230. But it seems like mine is an older model as it does not have the most current GCU2 board. Damn!

Did you buy it new? what is the battery capacity 3s or 2s? just because its 230 doesn't mean its a GCU1, only the HP & SAFARI versions fill to 250.

They are quite common in the UK, the biggest retailer here sells them with the metal bottle so that you can use a DR BOB clamp for a bipod, however now the SABER clamp is out there is no need to do that, the metal bottle looks awful IMO!

Agreed! They don't look great at all.

Yah I suppose the UK would be the most likely to have a few in the wild since they're local.

I think the importers take one look and it's 'no thanks!' 😆

Yes, I bought new from a dealer. Battery says 7.4V, 1000mah, 15C. Could not find an "S" value on it. Perhaps there is no benifit to a GCU-2 for a regular powered .177. it is spitting out 10.4 pellets @ 885-900fps.

Correct absolutely no benefit to you at all, the GCU2 was only done to drive the system harder via the bigger capacitors, that requires the use of a bigger battery for more power thats all, I wouldn't worry about it for one minute.
