Red Wolf magazine accuracy

Tomcat airguns did a video on the magazine and it's effects on the pellets/seating etc. using a borescope right up inside the barrel in front of the mag, take a look, but if you cant find it I will post a link.

I am presuming you havent reversed the magazine for entry side?

I reversed one of them for comparison, and can tell no difference in performance.

Thanks for the video reference, just watched it, and it only compounds the mystery. He finds the magazine does a good job of allowing the pellet to enter the breech without damage. And honestly, when I chamber pellets from the magazine, I feel no different or unusual resistance. Whatever the issue may be, I don't believe the pellet is being damaged during chambering, although that was my first assumption.

Well, as Alice said, this is "curiouser and curiouser". I decided to shoot the RW in the yard this morning, and shot at 25 yards from a makeshift bench. The top group is 5 shots using the s/s tray, the bottom left is with the magazine. I did not have a rock solid rest, so I stopped to adjust it, and then shot the bottom right 5-shot group, with the magazine. I moved my scope adjustment to remove the POI from my aiming point. Anyone who follows any shooting forum will agree, all "one-hole" groups are not equal, and obviously that one is exceptional. The only thing of note about the magazine, I loaded only 5 pellets, and I used the one that I had not reversed for right-side loading. Go figure. Could be an anomaly, I'll do some more testing.

I exchanged emails today with Simon at Daystate. He did not confirm any known issues with their magazines. He also said that reversing them for right side entry is fine, no adverse consequences. I know these statements are inconsistent with things I have read on this forum, all heresay. This is the first direct communication I have had with a Daystate representative. I don't know Simon's role, but I assume he speaks with first hand knowledge. Just thought I would pass it on.
