Red Wolf Breech Seal (the o-ring kind - not the mammal )

Received Red Wolf (RW) HP .22 caliber in third week of August. Had about 300 pellets through it before today. Shot 50 or so today. Had to replace breech o-ring twice during today's range session.

I sensed something with the gun was "different" when 1.) the sound of the rifle went from a "thiiit" to a rim fire bang, 2.) I got hit in the face with a blast of air when I pulled the trigger, and 3.) pellet velocity dropped over 200 FPS. Luckily, there was another Red Wolf shooter at the range today and he showed me how to replace the o-ring without having to remove the barrel.

I shot another 25 pellets or so and experienced Sympton 1 (from above) again. Fortunately, the o-ring was only unseated rather than shot down the barrel so I plucked it out with a allen wrench and re-seated it. Dental picks were not required - this time.

I spoke with Darren from AoA after returning home. He said I need a 5mm X 1.5mm o-ring with an NDR of 75 or 80 (which I guess is a greater NDR number than what comes from the factory). Awaiting a bag of o-rings so I'm prepared for future problems.

I think at least one other person wrote within the forum regarding RW breech seal issues a while back. Then again, maybe not. Hence, my short recap of today's trials and tribulations.

Best wishes
