Red dot at night?

I had a couple pigeons in my hay barn. I shot them yesterday evening with my1701. T he last one flew away after a hit. I went out tonight with my PP700. I noticed I could see the red dot with the lights on. I turned them off and the red dot would slowly fade away. I shined a flashlight and could see theft turning it off the dot fades away. Is that normal, that you can't see Aled red dot in the dark?

never heard of solar powered dot????? maybe battery is dead , why would a red dot be solar powered aren't most NV compatible?????

I own 2 and both are what kind is yours take a pic of it please

I think your unit takes a cr2032 battery

This one is a Bushnell try-25 The dot stays illuminated because if I flick the barn light back on the dot is there. I just loose it in the dark. I don't think I move the pistol and loose the dot but it could be

Ok, then sounds like you have an alignment issue. I am not a fan of dot sights on rifles. My .22lr pistol wears one. It is hard to shoot in the dark without positive light.

JW - are you confusing laser projector sights (beamed to target) vs. holo dot (dot in a tube)??

a red dot or green dot will work with the lights on or off

it has no way to know what the light conditions are

does it have a brightness knob, most do

it may need a new battery or it might have an unknown problem but turning the lights off isn't one

I went out and played with it in the dark. It was just me letting the scope get out of alignment with my eye. Earlier I really thought I was holding the pistol still. I guess when its pitch dark and you can't even see your hand it was easy for me to move. What a dummy
