What to do with all those protective foam rings our pellets come in? I had been saving them for God knows what but didn't want them to land in the landfill. A flash of inspiration I can always use more targets. I cute them into strips the wide of the thickness of the foam, cut them into 1/2-3/4" pieces, nip the corners off they end up about a 1" octagon, than mixed up all the remainates of old paint around the shop and dip them. I pour a bunch in , stir and remove them with an old noodle spoon and dry in the grass. The mess disappears the next time I cut the grass. I then pound finish nails into a scrap of wood and impale them on it. I also use old brass and shotgun shells for the same purpose.I'm retired so I can spend time on little DIY projects.

I'm a studio potter and my wife makes tile. Those foam rings make great padding between tiles for shipping! This is especially pertinent since right now all our business is online sales until art shows are cleared to reopen, so everything gets packed and shipped.

Put them around pellet tins in your guncase keeps them from banging against your gun.
You can use them as templates to spray paint 100 yard target circles to see better.
Open them up line the edges of the gun case where the gun or scope rubs against.
Pad in between multiple guns that share a single case.
Use to take up the slack in oversized pellet tin cutouts in gun case.
Tape over and around the muzzle and air cylinder end to avoid POI SHIFT easy on and off slip fit.
Use as buffers on each end of rifle when shipping tape them all together.
Use as padding before taping the rigid wood around pistol grip so the stock doesn't crack during shipping.
Use as a stock filler before shipping separate from action. Use to pad between items in a tight shipping box to avoid shipping damage.
Make your own beverage insulator to keep hot or cold. Also use in oversized car beverage holders so it doesn't spill.
Stuff front to back between the car seat and center console so your phone doesn't fall all the way in where you have to stick your hand under the seat up in a very tight place tippy finger toes to get it. That's a real Bummer right?

You can probably manufacture your own glue be melting them in liquids such as perhaps acetone just don't breath it.
Maybe use as a filler thickener in chemical based glue.
Make hand made 3d printed type stuff using the melted byproduct. Make a cast out of clay or plaster first then pour it in. SST or Ballistic Turret or Side focus wheel or Speedloader etc...
Melt it into blocks and file and sand to Make whatever you want.
Make cheek rest for bullpups.
Line your broken worn spring mattress to give it more life or line the underside with it.
Make a light weight shooting bag rest or a massive bean bag type pillow to sit on or lean up against.
Stuff your dog eaten couch before duct taping the damage.
Use as a car seat filler on missing foam sections.
Cut strips candy cane wrap to your fishing pole or scoop net for comfort grip.

I invest in the future of we, our planet, and our future. I place them in the trash so that they are relocated to a known location so that in the future if their value increases there is no need for discovery-based exploratory mining. They can mine the land fills, find the rare earths and plastics, and sell them or convert them into recycled products. By throwing them into the trash, to be relocated for future storage into the land fill, I am helping our current generation and future generations by performing known product placement and caching. Should foam inserts become a traded commodity I will know precisely where to start digging first.
