I'm looking for a new scope for my Impact. Currently I have an Athlon 2.5-15x50 MIDAS BTR on it and its a decent scope but I'm looking for a step up specially at longer distances. I have looked at the vortex razor HD's but I would like to stay under 1000.00 bux. I have never had or used a FFP but wouldn't be against one. Mostly shoot targets/paper in my back yard but have a couple places with 100+ yards I shoot at on occasion. I would like a good quality, reliable scope that I can click for elevation good glass zero stop would be nice. One more question moa or mil rad

Thanks

Out to 100yd, I want more magnification than that. Here are a few options I like in the price range you mentioned.

1) Sightron SIII 10-50 SFP - If you want high magnification for known distances with quality glass, nice turrets, and very nice focus... they are hard to beat in the price range. Can be had used for $700 or less. I’m not a huge fan of the Sightron reticles personally, but they have several options. The are extremely nice for their price, and there is a reason you see so many on the bench and at FT.

2) Athlon Cronus - I am a big fan of the Athlons that I have tried in FFP. For the price they are hard to beat. The Cronus is one of my favorite scopes, period. You can get a used one for around $1000, well less than the $1700 MSRP. That is their top of the line Japanese scope from the LOW factory. Comparable to the Razor you mentioned, but for the price and specs, I think the Cronus is a better buy.

3) Athlon Ares ETR - Their next tier, starts around $1000, but can be had used for $900 or maybe a touch less. Not quite as good as the Cronus, so for a similar price I like the Cronus.

4) Athlon Midas Tac. I haven’t tied the new model in 34mm, only the 30mm model. For $500 or a touch less, I really like this scope. Closer side focus than the Cronus or ETR, but a little less too end mag. This is my favorite mid priced scope. The Ares BTR was a scope I liked in this price range, but after using the Midas Tac, I changed my preference.

I have heard great things about the new Arken models, especially the SH for the price, but haven’t used one. There are many others that are nice, but these are my personal choices.

The Athlons are good choices but don't hold their value very well and several of them are over your target price. Definitely check out the Arkens. I have the SH4 on my RAW and it is capable of sub MOA groups at 100 yards. Burris XTR II is in your price range and its a great scope for the money. Bang for the buck the 34mm Arken EP4 6-24 has everything you listed and is well under a grand. PM me if you need a dealer POC. I have a good one for Athlon and Arken.
