Really loving the FX Verminator / Airbow

Bought (stole) this on the AGN classifieds a couple weeks ago. Love this thing! Getting that “like a kid again” feeling that PB’s just don’t provide (for me, anyway). Deadly accurate with crossbow bolts and I plan to slay many invasive carp “airbow fishing”. The best part is all I need is a .22 barrel and it’s a superbly accurate, high shot count air rifle as well. What other gun can you hunt everything from Chipmunks to deer with? Will have under $1k total outlay to hunt fish and a very wide range of mammals. I shoulda bought one sooner!

Have you chronographed the bolts yet? Tennessee just legalized air bows, I've been thinking about FX air bow systems, that's an impressive looking rig, congrats!!!

Not yet. Initial impression is that it doesn’t have nearly the “oomph” that my 385fps crossbow has. BUT.. that thing will blow through a deer and embed a broadhead in a tree so hard I can barely pull it out. This FX isn’t on that level power wise, but should have no problem taking medium and large game at typical archery distance with well placed shots. Well placed shots should be pretty easy, it just goes where it’s pointed. Will chrony and update you ASAP.

I'm happy for you man! Those arrows are deadly accurate. So much so, that I won't shoot at the same target more than once within about 40/50 yards for fear of splitting an arrow! I'm trying to recall what mine was shooting at. I'd like to say 300fps but, I may be mistaken. I don't shoot it much anymore but, it's one of those ones I know I can count on.

Thanks, Tom and cmatera. Bought it primarily as a “bow” fishing rig. Ended up more impressed than I expected with its other capabilities. Next step is a .22 barrel, and dialing it around 30fpe for a million shots per per fill. If I ever get down to PR for iguana, it’ll be the set up..rugged, not “too” fancy $ and easily shipped in a small box.
