Really disappointed with Utah Airguns

A little background first; I bought my first PCP over 20 years ago now and have dealt with the majority of the U.S. dealers/distributors at one time or another. Overall I have been very happy with the vast majority of them and the industry in general. Unfortunately, my recent first order with UA was extremely dissapointing. I placed an order on 10/13 for some pellets, an FX Chrono and some Impact accessories (not a huge order, but it totaled out to several hundred dollars). Everything showed as in stock and the ordering process was relatively painless. A couple of days later I still hadn't received a shipping notice but I figured it was possibly an oversight or just how UA did things, not a big deal. Eventually I received a phone message asking me to call them. I call and whoever picked up immediately made it very clear that having to deal with customers was really ruining his day. Along with being angry, he has no clue, but After a lengthy back and forth we finally figure out that the FX pellets I ordered are no longer in stock. They do have some Jsb's that will work for me, so I substitute them. That was the morning of October 16th and I finally got a shipping notice stating that they sent out the order today.

I'm a small business owner and I get that things are tough with Covid, but taking nine days to ship a small, in stock order is crazy. For comparisons sake, on 10/12 I ordered a .35 Impact from Baker Airguns and I had it in my hands before the end of the week (and that included a day of leak down tests Etc.).

My experience has been pretty dang good, called last Wednesday to put a down payment on a new Impact Compact, got a call Thursday to inform me they got it in and it will be in my hands nest week.

Since covid, ive spent near 14k in PCP rifles, ammo and accessories! More than half that amount with UtahAir, service and speed of shipping have been excellent. So has Ken Hicks from Spaw, Penchetta.com, Lethalair.net, and Brian from Edgunwest.com. Tony from Talontunes.com was meh and Pyramydair.com can be a hassle. Also being a small business owner, I do occasionally make mistakes, while I do my best to correct the situation, I realize that sometimes the customer will walk away unsatisfied. Hopefully Justin will see your posts and address his staff! Good luck, hope if there a next time, you get a better experience.

I haven't ordered much from Utah Airguns, but my experience has been really good.

I ordered an FX Chrono. a couple months ago when they had them on sale and I had it in my hands in just a few days.

Wish I could say the same for Pyramid Air; although recently they seem to be getting better with their realllllllly long delivery times we were experiencing a couple months ago.

I've also had really good luck with D & L Airguns in Canada. They're not very far north of the US in Langley, BC.

Plus, they sell in Canadian dollars which translates into a little bit of savings if you're paying in US dollars and the shipping was quick and customer service was very good.

I recently posted that I had received a new RAW from a dealer and was very unhappy with the way AirForce has cheapened the gun, packed it back up and sent it back to the dealer that next day. The dealer was Utah Airguns, and I was originally told that I'd have to pay for shipping, which really ticked me off, as the gun I received was not what I had seen when I ordered it. It cost me $165 to ship it back with the insurance, etc., and I wasn't happy about that. I called them and asked to talk to Mike Mitchell, the sales mgr., and explained to him what had happened and why I sent it back. He agreed with me and refunded the shipping costs. I got my notice from Paypal today that the rest of the money was in my account there for the gun, as well as the shipping.

Kudos to Mike and Utah Air for taking care of an unhappy customer who had purchased from them before. I'd definitely do business with them again after their prompt service...but it won't be on another RAW!

Before all this started I ordered an compact Impact from Utah air guns. It came early, perfect shape.Pellets including Hades, some accessories and just plain answers to my questions were all satisfactory. Now my neighbor can't items, clothes etc on time, in good shape from china like she use to. But what do you expect when the postmaster general is ordered to destroy and then remove the pieces of the sorting machines.

I have ordered a lot of things from Utah Air Guns over the past year and in general, my experience has been very good. Orders are generally shipped fast and any issues are promptly taken care of.

With that said... my biggest gripe with them is their inventory control as it relates to online ordering. I have ordered several things expecting that they were in stock (no pre-order or out-of-stock warnings) only to find that they were not. It can be very frustrating when you order something, that you want in a hurry, thinking it is in stock, only to find out after several days it is not. That kind of frustration causes people to buy elsewhere where they can trust the inventory listings.

The RAW I received was the new (improved) model by AirForce, and not the original in the pics that I saw on their site when I ordered it. Instead of the original offset moderator on the barrel, which was previously all carbon fiber wrapped, it had this gawd-awful huge plastic can stuck on there to replace the offset moderator. It was not only ugly as you-know-what, it was, IMO way to big for the gun! It looked like they'd just stuck a small plastic beer can on there to me. In addition to that, the carbon-fiber bottle had a great big AirForce decal on it that couldn't be missed from any angle.

Don't get me wrong, I like AirForce guns. I have 2 of them now, a Condor and a TalonP, both in .25, and they're both good guns. The TalonP is set up as a carbine, and is my travel ground hog gun. However, I was not paying anywhere close to $2100 for either one of those guns! With the way that RAW looked in it's new configuration, I wouldn't have ordered it to begin with, much less paid what it cost...not even close to that. Without even taking it out of the box I packed it back up and sent it back to them the next day and would not consider buying one in that configuration in the future.

Sorry to hear.

I didn't have good experience either. They sold me a second had gun. It was leaking out where their fx gauge was installed. When I fixed that I also discovered the gun would not cycle the magazine because someone turned the hammer spring all the way up. Clearly, nobody tested this gun before selling it to me. And when I tried to engage them in support they basically ignored me. After the money was in their bank.

I ordered a Wildcat mkIII from them in April. I knew it would be a wait and I wasn't that worried about.

Along comes August and I get a call from them that the wildcat is in and would be shipping soon. Three weeks later September is here and no wildcat. I give them a call and am told no wildcats have come in since June. I told them I was called from UA just 3 weeks ago and was told one was being shipped to me. Man on phone says he will call me back and see what happened. I received a call the next day and was told the wildcats which came in were actions only and they went to customers wanting a special stock. This mistake really upset me, but, all I could do is either cancel my order or wait. The wildcat finally shipped to me in the middle of October.

Along the way I was able to purchase a Maverick from Palm Beach Air. It was ordered and arrived in 3 days.

I recently purchased an fx Maverick sniper from Utah air guns I was really impressed with the packaging not only did it come in a hard case but the case was wrapped in bubble wrap and foam padding as well as in a box I got it 5 days later unfortunately when I acquired it the Foster Phil and the bottle we're leaking I was told by tedious to call on Monday and I did I spoke with Josh and he was extremely helpful understanding and very knowledgeable. I got a brand new carbon fiber tank a bunch of o-rings and I even got hooked up with a carbon fiber barrel sleeve. Do yourself a favor and purchase from a vendor like Utah air guns they're going to have your back they're open on weekends and I've had a wonderful experience. Thank you Josh thank you Utah air guns for all your help and knowledge and time.
