Gauntlet .25 - more pics and commentary added 4/10

Hi Guys is this rifle going on sale in the United Kingdom as I have not seen it over here. I can recall the promo on YouTube over 12 months ago. With the price of $300. Grate British Pound @ 229.44 this would would be the BIG air rifle manufactures in the UK take a VERY close look at the price of there air rifles. A good rifle in the UK is 1,500 gbp = 1,961.29 US.

I bought a gauntlet in .22 back in March of 2018. The trigger was terrible like a gravel road in a red wagon. It’s adjustable it’s only one stage. But some polishing and a little slickem, twists a screw here and there and it’s as good as anything you’ve used. I’m not sure I have ever bought a gun I didn’t do some kind of trigger work on.

I really Like Steve's Air Gun views and the how to is videos are even better to me!! He works hard at learning these air guns in this case the .25 Umarex Gauntlet!!Then passes that info on to us !! Thanks!! Steve!!

Which, I like and may be the my next air I buy for its price and power!! If, I was was so luck, to win this nice bundle I would splurge And get the shroud and the moderator!!

Its really hard to beat the price go the 25 Umarex Gauntlet!!!!

Hey guys here's some more pics and short descriptions that I snagged from Steve's FB page https://www.facebook.com/hookedonair/

The Gauntlet is a pretty rifle from most any angle but the lolly pop pitting was kind of a bummer.

Clean bill of health for this engine, and just look at that ES and SD! Dauuuuumn!

To adjust the trigger one has to first remove the stock. Before one can remove the stock they've got to remove 3 screws, a bottle shroud, and align a trigger safety just right... not to mention the cumbersome rubber receiver cap when it all goes back together. Takes about 5 minutes to adjust the trigger each time. There's got to be a better way.

In all her glory, 46.25" long and 10.4 lbs scoped up.

Cheating the wind at 50 yds is easy now that the Gauntlet comes in a 45 fpe version.

The barrel may come from China but I found it to not only be excellent... it's also slick inside, an indicator of some level of finishing. Junk don't stick! Patchworm cleaning kit shown.

Break in is tough on the Gauntlet's parts... get some lube on it early on.

This is what a pound & a half sear looks like. Handle with care and check for lube... this one came bone dry.

Only because I'm old the gaunlet is just a touch heavy but that's all me the rifle's are great and I would love to add a .25!

On the excellent QB trigger if you can live with either a 1 0r 1-1/2lb trigger the plunger screw mod is the most crisp feeling way to go. If someone bothers to adjust the trigger at all ( and yes they need that out of the box IMO ) it is well worth the time to add two 2mm jam nuts on the inside of the trigger housing so that the adjustment screws never move - naturally some goop could work also but the 2mm nuts are great-.

On the "cocking issue" I am still convinced 90% of the "problems" folks have is due to technique , cock it like any old swan neck airgun, just one finger and your thumb and they are slick as all get out. PULL to the side at all and oh my, I do believe a strong person could bend/bind something?

The Gauntlet - any cal.- has set a new standard even crosman hasn't managed to match ( yet ? ) $ for $ ( do note " $ for $" as they certainly are "better" airguns) they is no other airgun in it's league.

Biggest complaint I could come up with is they are over sprung-hammer spring-.

Absolutely the best entry level pre-charged on the market.
