Read him his last rights

This guy has been cleaning out my feeders every night until I started bringing them in. Then he switched to garbage night. Well tonight is garbage night and the Priest read him his last rights. A .25 FX Hybrid forever delivered him from temptation. Had to make a quick scope adjustment of 15 down and 2 clicks left because I just got done putting my Priest back on pellets today. Glad I wrote down a 30yrd slug setting for cases just like this. But the reality is, you have to shoot larger animals exactly the same with a slug as you do with a pellet. Slugs don’t magically kill raccoons and groundhogs with boiler room shots. Always go for the noggin.

Digging the looks on that Priest. Nice job! I don’t think that one will be raiding your feeders anymore.

I got me a big fat one a little while ago, but I did not take the head shot & had to send a couple more Polymags in there to finish the job.

They seem to be all over the place in my area. Frankly, they have not caused me too much trouble, so I’m just keeping my eye out just in case.

For the last 10 years, I’ve had a family of flying squirrels hanging around. They only come out at night and I am very protective of them. I sometimes would have somebody’s house cat waiting around trying to score one of my squirrels. I would just send my dog out to run the cat off. I don’t want a dog messing with a raccoon. They may be cute and intelligent but they can throw down big time .
