RAW,Weihrauch, Air Arms or Crown the best

I have both the Crown and the HMX. The build quality and simplicity of the RAW is amazing. They are heavy as hell! The Crown is a sweet gun! I had take it down and did some polishing while there. It's as smooth as the RAW just as accurate lighter and adjustable as hell! All that said it's also a bit complicated. If I was to buy another high end gun it would be a RAW ..............today anyway! LOL

Omitting the RAW moderator will not make a big difference. The rifle's receiver is big hunk of steel, and the stock is big too. I've owned most of the major makes, and I agree, RAW is probably the best. It's the one I would depend on for long-term reliability as well as accuracy. But, the "best" often gets down to your intended use. I love my RAW, but would never lug it through the woods. My favorite hunting rifle right now is an FX Royale 400 synthetic. Little pieces vs. big pieces, big difference in weight.

Jamlet,

I have owned 2 FX including a Crown, 2 Air Arms including a prosport which I still have and 2 RAW's both of which I still have.

That said I sold the Crown to buy a RAW .30 LRT and have not looked back. The Crown was fantastically accurate as is the RAW, however the fit and finish was appalling to me.

The same could be said of the FX Royale 500 that I had before the Crown. No comparison to the RAW's or the Air Arms.

The Air Arms I feel as if the finish is as nice as a RAW, I only sold my Ultimate Sporter so I could add a second RAW to the fleet.

I find the RAW a little more accurate even thought the A.A. Ultimate Sporter was extremely accurate in its own right.

Just the opinion of someone who has owned 3 of the 4 brands you listed.

Terry thank you very much for you input and opinion. After reading post from people such as yourself RAW will be getting the next 2k I can sneak out. I also like the beauty of a nice quality piece of wood furniture wrapped around a good rifle, kinda old school. Just a side note what a reputation this company has and is building, I have not had one person say any thing negative less the fact that they are a little heavy.

I have several guns. Most of the makes you mentioned. And for just the sheer fun of it, I like my little Cricket Mini. It is .22 and hits like a hammer. yet it is small and light and easy to carry around. In fact, it is small enough to wheel around inside the car (shooting turtles from the car window last week).

The RAW is built like a tank. If you want a gun you can use the rest of your life, then hand it down to one of your kids, get the RAW. If you just want to have some fun with a great little gun, I recommend the KalibrGun Cricket.
