Follow up on my earlier post regarding resetting my headspace on the HM1000x .30, so that’s exactly what I did increased probe length by .005 thou. To get better seal on probe to barrel seat ( to eliminate blow-by! ) which did correct problem!, BUT...!,Because of the effort to break the loctite bond on adjustment threads should have been a clue that there’s no way it should have moved from original factory setting! Unless the barrel moved in receiver etc. that wasn’t the issue? So what was it? Well I’m ashamed to say it was the cocking handle tension screw positioned on top of action almost backed all the way out therefore allowing this little bit off play or slop to alter headspace that .005 measurement! Moral of story be virulent in checking this and the little set screw that keeps the larger scew from backing out, before making any headspace adjustments... (just noticed this today while shooting before work)

Nomojo,

I had exactly this same problem with my .22 RAW. It was suddenly loud and shots were shooting low. Then I found the same exact thing the pivot bolt for the probe had backed out

tightened it up and all was grand again.

Hi guys,

Can anyone please enlighten me on proper process of removing bottle from HMx action?

Thank you, Vasyl.

Unload the rifle and uncock it. Sit on a chair with the rifle between your knees and grasp the bottle and twist. It may take two or more turns until you hear the air leak past the seal. Then the bottle should unscrew easily.

If you unscrew the bottle a turn, dry fire s shot and watch the pressure gauge, if it does not move, unscrew 1/2 tun and try again, carry on until the pressure gauge drop. When the bottle is unscrewed far enough, the push pin inside the reg stops opening the bottle valve, dry firing a shot will dump the air stored in the block, you will clearly see the press drop on the gauge. Much easier to remove bottle that it not undevany pressure.

Hi everyone.

I am trying to join the RAW club, but having some difficulty getting in touch with them via email.
( My present job & schedule make phoning them nearly impossible, so email works much better for me.)

I have sent several emails already, using both the email address shown on the RAW webpage ( [email protected] ), as well as filling in the "blank page" section of their Contact Us page.

Haven't had any response yet, and it has been more than a few days.

I am wondering if perhaps they are out of the office, maybe attending an event / match / show somewhere. Or, they maybe are just that busy building awesome rifles.

Anyways, besides trying to somehow phone them, I was wondering if anyone knew a different email address to reach them, or, if it's just very normal to have to be patient and wait awhile for a reply ? LOL !

Bonus question : anyone know the approximate current timeframe for a rifle to be built ?

Thanks very much in advance for any help.

The best bit of advice that you could receive is to contact [email protected] and discuss your wants. He’s the go-to guy for many here. According to what I see on his site he has several in stock. Uj

Just wanted to give a public Thank you!  to Cameron ("rapidair" ) for helping me out via Private Message. I also hope nobody got the impression I was upset or disappointed with my email issues, as I realize that RAW is a busy place, and things are now looking better for me to hopefully join the RAW club. *grin* Guess I better go re-read the uhhh..... how many pages is this thread again ?? LOL.

i also tried to join the rapid owners forum three weeks ago. no response yet from anyone. disappointed.

Yep, sorry about that, the site go hacked by spammers, Phil had to turn off new registrations until a more robust safeguard was put in place.

Try again, if you are still having issues, pm me and I will contact Phil on your behalf.

Nicely done muchaur, 👍

i have fitted several of those ssg devices to rapids and a few to RAWs, for best results in sub 12 guns I machine off some of the hammer to make it lighter, this has a quicker lock time and with the ssg has almost zero hammer bounce. The biggest increase in shot count was on a RAW tm1000 .177, with a new valve, alterations to the reg a lighter hammer and ssg device, shot count increased by 50%

i have not tried fitting a ssg device to a high powered gun.
