SMH77- shoot a JEWEL trigger if u can!, I’ve owned & shot 3 different ones all 1.5oz single stage, they also all felt exactly the same! ( they are mechanical triggers ) to me the best trigger I’ve owned or used will admit haven’t shot that many others, personally the RAW triggers aren’t that great: to much travel, side play, creep, mushy etc. of course I prefer single stage, now in my earlier post I said I can’t blame poor shooting on the RAWS trigger TRUE, but makes it more difficult to shoot effectively & confidently! This is reinforced every time I shoot my old BR gun again...

As you can see in my previous post, I also recognize some limitations in the RAW trigger. But, in fairness, it is a very good trigger for its intended use. If your RAW trigger is displaying the creep and mushy feeling to which you refer, something is not right. It is not the easiest trigger to adjust, but it can be done, and the result should be a very crisp pull. My two are set up with a 6 oz. let off (just measured them), with about 3 oz. in the first stage. That is light enough for anything but pure bench rest, which is not the intended use of the HM1000. I know that RAW offers a match trigger without a safety, and perhaps it can be adjusted lighter, I don't know. For position shooting, most folks (or the rules) would require a heavier pull, and as the weight increases, the RAW trigger becomes very good, at least that has been my experience.

I agree with your comments too. To get mine to release more 'crisply' I ended up bumping up the second stage weight, and it does feel 'decent' now for sure-suitable for the shooting that I'll do with it.

I guess my whole point is this: you can buy a replacement trigger from Martin for like $169 from the RAW website. Lets say it only cost him about $69 in parts and machining to make the unit. When the cost of the rifle is at $2200 with his rifle, I would gladly pay $2600 to order one with an Anschutz trigger in it. Heck, we're already waiting for close to a half year for the guns to be made, so it shows we're patient, and willing to spend the money, and time to get what we want. Anyway, I digress-the RAW trigger is very much so usable and does seem better at higher pull (second stage) weights.

I’ve adjusted my RAW’s triggers to my satisfaction all 4 of them... one is the HMx action that’s the one that’s least to my liking, still ok!, I’ve done what I can within my limits, sounds like someone with your expertise could do better! @ this point I’m better off just shooting them!

Triggers are like Scotch Whiskey (my adult beverage of choice). You can be perfectly content drinking bar scotch for years, then you sample a wee dram of 18yo single malt. All of a sudden that Dewer's just doesn't cut it anymore and (if the sticker shock doesn't kill you) there ain't no going back.

I've had nothing but Jewell triggers in all my center fire BR guns, and oyu are right. A properly set Jewell breaks like a glass rod with no creep at all. It'll spoil you for anything else. The triggers on my AA S510 and RAW TM1000 are good and very good respectively, but they're no Jewell.

Has anyone taken delivery of new RAW within the last week or two? Just trying to determine what their current average build time is. The gal at AirForce is very nice but she doesn't have much info about guns on order. I thing I'm probably in the last two? to four? weeks of the wait (mid April order. Starting to shake a bit . Uj

Which trigger unit is that one? Are they still being made?

looks like theres no trigger blade on it ither.. just a copper bb? and what is the cost of that unit ken?

Mine is shipping to Ken Monday, It will ride in the back of his truck (tuning) for a few days and then it will show up soon after.

It was ordered around 2/5/18. I had read somewhere that Martin was having some parts problems but I have no details.

What caliber and style do you have being made?

The wait is not fun for sure. I have a .22 and .25 to play with which helps keep my mind off of it. From what others are saying the .30 will be a sweet addition to the collection. I'm coming up on the last 2 months of good groundhog weather and am ready to get the .30 out to smack a few.

craig , what barrel do you have on your 22 raw. is it a cut barrel or poly?

Poly barrel on the .22 . It shoots so good it scares me. 50 yards is easy to tie shots together. Ken worked on it before it came to me. About two weeks ago at 73 or so yards i did a clean head shot on a crow.
