RAW REPORT

Kdog your gun looks a lot like the one I have on order. I hope my walnut has as much figure as yours (upgrade?). I went with the tube vs bottle. What ammo are you using? My original thought was a LW bbl shooting JSB10.34s but Martin strongly recommend the poly bbl and 13.43s for HFT in MN. Both he and Ken believe that the Monsters performance in the wind trumps the greater demand for accurate ranging. Hope so because that's what I'm going with. Uj

My HM1000 was built with an LW barrel for LV and was tuned to shoot 12 fpe. I decided to use it for HFT and turned up the hammer spring to 14 fpe. It is amazingly accurate with AA 8.44 gr pellets at 872 fps. I wouldn't change anything on this gun. The stock is pretty awesome too. The grain really came out with a coat of Tru-Oil.

UG.,

Yes Martin gave me the advice on the poly barrel as well so I ordered mine with both barrels. I haven't shot the poly with monsters yet but plan to do so. Currently my TM is shooting 10.3's at 900fps with the LW barrel and with the bottle I am getting close to 200 shots per fill.

I lucked out on this stock I just ordered a walnut stock but the left side of the buttstock looks exhibition grade. I also have used Tru oil many times but have not done anything with this finish...it's as it came from Martin with a duller finish. I will take a better pic of the stock and show it to you. Hopefully you will get a nice piece of walnut as well.

Beautiful!, that’s all I can say... makes me want to restock one of my RAW’s w/Walnut, but would be to afraid of damaging it ( I’m hell on stocks!) I do still believe my standard LW 12 groove is more accurate w/ 10.3’s vs. the LW poly w/13.4’s ( for group shooting! ) for FT or long range shooting is where the poly wins out because its less effected by wind, SPIN DRIFT etc. that’s why it’s favored for score or Ft shooting!,(MY OPINION ONLY!), you also have to remember that the 13.4’s have a much thicker skirt, so work better ( conform to interior bore profile of poly- much better (gas seal!), I believe the pellets themselves 10.3 & 8.4’s are much more consistent lot to lot?, therefore better suited for group shooting? But you better know how to compensate for wind, Mirage, tail & head winds because it’s very critical with this combo.( Standard LW 12 groove / lighter pellets!) Then again maybe I just lucked out and got an exceptional 12 groove LW? Bottom line I’ve had very good luck with Both and will continue to use them! Hoping much more experienced shooters will chime in here!, I’m in my infancy, learning of the characteristics of these barrel/pellet combinations.

I keep telling my self I don’t need another rifle but I want a high powered .177 raw next, or a American air arms evol if they ever get into 100% production. well martins done the 357 25 and now the 22 in hi power would be great if he finishes with the 177 and 20 ,,im not sure if the 30 thats out is a hi power version
