To me the Buckskin reminds me of a piece of redwood.

I have contemplated doing a stippled insignia. I have done it on practice wood and done a three dimensional piece of art.It was simply a piece to learn from. With that you do not have to worry as much about hard vs. soft.

It does not make the gun shoot any better Mark Buchanan already took care of that.
And he did an exquisite job of that.

It's just a personal touch that expands my abilities.

I agree with your thought process on the hard /soft wood issue. I have been dwelling on stippling only the background around the letters leaving the actual letter as finished wood, then painting the background black like anschutz use to do years back with their stippling.This would raise the lettering and the black stipple would allow the letters to stand out.

That said I believe that this could be done with a laser as well without the stipple. Just a thought,,,,, I may be all wet. My son has a laser Imay try to get him to do a sample (mock-up) to see what it looks like. My problem will be finding laminate like what is being used for the testing.

The extra stipple work on the bottom and sides would be a nice option also as it would give a bit more area to better grip the gun while handling it.

It was reported that Martin will be building for some time. I don't know when any changes that we would see will be made.

One other option now is to order from Southern Precision Air Weapons and have Ken go over it to optimize the functionality of the gun. This is what I did on my next 2 guns. From what I have read Ken does excellent work. When my .22 arrives in 2 months I'll be reporting on how well it shoots. Ken also posted a video on one that he worked on a month ago and from what i saw it was drilling the target very well.

How high did you go? Looks like 4 with 35". It's super hard to tell with those pics. But it does look like you redid the entire suspension and drive train. I see job factory diff covers, did you change the gear ratios to accommdate the tires? 
That might be my next project. Right now I have a f250 7.3. Thing is a beast in the sand dunes. Not a great trail rig since wheel base is a little long. But it gets the job done here in Hawaii. It will go anywhere here. Not a lot of places with ridiculous tight turns. If it does have it. Just blaze your own road.
