The one hanging on the wood fence was last night. The one in my medieval trap was a while ago.

oh, and to gage the size, the fence top runner is a 2 x 12.

Whats your general location to get nutria freak?

Whats your general location to get nutria freak?

I’m in Indiana,I have a fairly sized pond in the yard and they usually hang around the banks of ponds and lakes eating away at the roots.Best times to get them is around dusk and dawn.

Over here in Washington State, we have a large(not as large as Louisiana) population of Nutria. Same with NW and coastal Oregon. 15lb is common then you have the 20-25lb fatties.

The fur farms here in Oregon were severely damaged back in the 70’s and they turned the rest loose. They’ve been moving north since. Tillamook valley has a huge population of them. Agricultural area between Corvallis, Oregon and Canby, Oregon have quite a few also. Cathelamet, Washington has a island out in the Columbia River that has a bounty on them also. $8 a head IIRC

@Rokynutz, that is a huge rat. Where did you shoot this monster? Must be a good habitat for that sucker to get so huge.

Out my bedroom window. Unfortunately I live in a residential area with a lot of....dirty neighbors. But, that wharf rat is due to the proximity to the docks and sloughs near by. We have the common little rats also here. Only two of these large ones that I had seen.

Got this one(Nutria/Coypu/swamp rat)last night by my pond 13 yards with Diana Skyhawk.177 and JSB HEAVY 13.43.Didnt even flop or nothing, just dead on impact.

Thanks Glem,if you know of any ponds or lakes or river banks you’ll probably find them there too. Cheers
