Raptor .22 the second on his way

Hey all,

Ok, my Raptor originally ordered is on his way. How is that you would say? You received it few months back. Yep but that wasn't what I originally ordered. So Travis and I figured that out and we decided that I needed to send my Black Widow back and get it set and tuned properly. So now it is on his way and a Hawk .22 is in the same box. I am so looking forward at finally testing my Raptor and the Hawk.

I am so looking forward to be able to play with what the raptor was sold for. The adjustable reg. the power adj. the slug barrel. I am so excited to be able to talk about what we are all have been waiting for so long.

I hope I am going to enjoy that baby.

The two new Babies will be home Friday.

Thank you Travis.

I have received them. They made it home.

The barrels are clean and ready to go shoot. The Hawk will wait, I haven't received the Rings for it yet. But the black widow is ready

Here she is, not a great pic but ready to shoot.

and a quick of the Hawk .22

So, I shot the Raptor .22 and the Hawk .22 this week.

Man the Raptor is shooting hot. Right now out of the box, it is shooting the 18.13g JSB at 970 fps, ext spread 30fps, Std dev. 7ft/s and it looks like that it is on or close to the minimum on the reg, I haven't touch any settings yet. I am going to see if I can lower the speed for them. I received some slugs that I will be trying before slowing it down.

But darn it is smooth I love it. Even at that speed, it is still really quiet. The hawk shooting at 870fps on a default hammer spring set on 3 (I haven't made the Transfer port mod yet) with the Tatsu is louder than the Raptor without.

I have sighted them both and put ~100 pellets through both of them. I will post some groups at 50 yards for the raptor and 35 for the Hawk. So far, I can say that the Hawk is really good for the price as a hunter but not as a fine precision machine. I am sure that it will even get better as it breaks in and the trigger and mod on the port as shown by Hajimoto will be made. So far I like the Hawk and I will be taking it to PR in march for our hunt, as the mini .25 will not make it due to the tanks being held at the port because of the coronavirus. But the Raptor is oh so much better, I know I shouldn't compare apples and oranges. But, I do not regret the wait time and purchasing it. I will be getting it to my goal of dedicated slug shooter for longer range prairie dog shooting.

I will be posting some shot strings and targets pretty soon I hope.
