RAPID AIR WEAPONS CHANGES NAME

Weapons in the name is such a strong term. I’m definitely pro 2nd Amendment but do not consider my air guns to be weapons. What would be really bad is if they went out of business just because of a name change.

^^^THIS!!!!

I enjoy having my toys shipped to my door! We don't need more regulation but all it takes is one F&%$ IDIOT!

I vote for changing their name to RAT (Rapid Air Toys)!

+1 on this. While I understand that some are troubled by the name change I can certainly understand why the company is doing it. They are not weapons and not regulated as such and that’s the way I like it.

plus one good on you both ,

The argument that Air guns are not weapons is profoundly silly. Of course they are weapons. This argument is akin to requiring people on a forum not to use the term silencer when referring to a moderator simply because it creates a negative impression. Air guns ARE weapons and moderators ARE silencers. In both cases the device is NOT regulated by BATF in the USA and I suspect we can all agree on that being a good thing.

It is much more important that we focus on policing our own community so that we continue to exist free from government intrusion into our hobby than to make up pretend names which avoid the simple speaking of truth... as far too many are doing these days. Frankly carefully manipulating language to DECEIVE is troubling no matter WHO does it.

That said, I could care less what RAW wants to call themselves. If the new name floats their boat so be it. They seem to have a good reputation. Changing that name WILL NOT make it better, but it shouldn't make it worse either.

Much ado about NOTHING.

What would be even worse is if they were "forced" out of business because they didn't change their name.

Long before that happens one would hope the people would figure out what the second amendment protects.

Given that so many here are advocating against protecting their "toys" under that blanket. One hopes they realize, If it isn't a weapon, it isn't protected at all.

Times are a changing and have been for many years. Unless one conforms to a degree of these general population "sensitivities" that is the world we all live in today, many will find there cutting off there nose in spite a beautiful face if holding fast on an ideology of "Just Deal with It" Guns, Weapons etc as it has been for centuries.

You wish to maintain these freedoms ? Why salt the wounds of an ever increasing push back and negative perception by the ignorant. It is only a name change to help the longevity of the company and our beloved sport / hobby and dismiss or soften the perception our modern air guns being weapons.

Makes sense to me ….

True.

We can also start a campaign like " you will find PCPs in gentleman's hands only"

+1 Different strokes for each but never yield to blackmail. This smacks of weakness not prudence.
