Range finder?

Personal opinion here but I think too many people over pay on range finders for airguns at least. I have a cheap rangefinder i've had for over 2 years now and hasn't died and works flawless. I have only tested accuracy to 250 yards but I am extremely confident in its abilities.

It has the best readout of ANY rangefinder I have seen at ANY pricepoint. Click that link below and take a peek, Its the best bang for buck and much more accurate than the bushnell ones in that price range.

Some features:

-Large illuminated side display

-Angle

-Extremely accurate (I ranged against a range tape wheel at various yardages out to 100 and it was dead on.)

-Small, sleek and simple

-CHEAP!

-Battery life is still going strong (2+years)

Man that one looks pretty well for this money!

You said it right with overpriced rangefinders for airguns, the average shooter only needs to max 150 meters in my opinion.

I agree you don't need a rangefinder for air gun use to reach out hundreds of yards, but I would guess that most people who buy a rangefinder will use it for more than just air gunning. Don't limit yourself to a golf unit or something cheap with a 200yd range thinking that's all you'll need. If that really is all you need like some of the others suggested, then great. I'm not knocking them at all. Most air gunners are outdoorsmen with other shooting and hunting hobbies where a more capable finder might come in handy. Just something to think about. Also keep in mind, most units don't range to the marketed distance and if they do, it's usually only on hard or reflective targets or under optimal conditions. I have a 1300yd. model and use it for air gunning, rifle hunting, bow hunting, long range shooting to 1000yds. and just screwing around checking/guessing distances with my sons.

I have the Bushnell 6x21mm, G Force DX, 1300 ARC rangefinder. I got it during a super sale last year. You don't hear a lot about high end Bushnell rangefinders but this one is really great and loaded with features for a super price. It's very accurate - within 1/2 yard, I've gotten readings closer than 5 yds. out to about 1000yds on hard/reflective targets. It is small and light weight, has a ballistic calculator built in with ARC(shoot to ranges for up and down hill with bow or rifle), a great display with adjustable brightness, variable sight in's for multiple rifles, sun/cloud modes, it's waterproof, has a lifetime warranty, and lots more. Check it out on-line for yourself. I think I paid $320 when I bought it a year ago and I like it so much I sold my Vortex rangefinder. You don't hear a lot about this one but it's well worth the money and is loaded with features. You might be able to find it for under $300 if you look around on line. I hope this helps!

After a lot of consideration, I ended up with the Nikon Black X 4000. Supposedly ranges to 4000 yds and very nice ergos. Mine ranges down to 8 yds and have ranged the cliffs near me at 2572 but yet to range anything further. A little more money than others in this thread but I just wanted as much versatility as I could afford for ags + pbs. Nikon has others that are less money. I like it a lot so far and seems to agree with my measuring tape exactly.
