Ran out of windage adjustment?!

I had the same problem of running out of windage. Upon investigation I found out that the rear rail was perfect but the front rail was lower in the front and down on the right. Shimming the rail is not an option due to not enough mounting surface. My solution was adjustable scope mounts. I used th FX ones. Problem solved.

When mounting a scope it should be optically centered, I use a V block to set the tube into then rotate the scope while looking at a fixed spot, adjust knobs so the crosshair stays centered as scope is rotated 360 degrees. Now the scope is ready to be mounted. All mfgrs recomend no more than one full turn from optical center for either elevation or windage knobs. If more adjustment is required, then the scope mount or rrail needs modification. This information comes directly from both Burris and Leupold service centers.
