Radio controlled moving target platform

I thought I'd share version one of my radio controlled target platform. It's been working well in its version 1 form. It is basically a radio controlled 4x4 rock crawler that I've put cardboard panels on to hold a 8x12 target in the center. Version 2 (this weekend) will be making a wooden target platform that replaces the cardboard.

It crawls out the window and down ramps and rolls down my firing line to whatever distance I want. I've had fixed backstops at 20yd, 30yd, 40yd, 50yd, 55yd and 25m. I recently also added the movable target stop that you can see in the last picture below, but I still had to go outside, walk into the woods and manually move it. Now, I can roll to a random stop, range in on it like a Field Target shot, and take my shot to see how well I did. Then, roll to a new spot and repeat. Since I don't know the exact yardage it makes it more challenging. When I'm done, it crawls back out of the woods and up the ramp so I can swap targets from the comfort of an air conditioned living room!

I'm guessing anyone could replicate this if they didn't want to walk back and forth to their 25M benchrest stop or just wanted to practice their hold over / hold under for general shooting.

Here is the range it crawls down. Leaves, sticks, small rocks, and uneven ground don't bother it at all. In the off chance it takes a hit, any part can be replaced (kit form ordering). If you like the idea, tag me a +1 on accuracy :)

I too have a Rock Crawler and use it for practice in this way. Where i live in the desert i have a large wash and hills with mesquite, cactus, and Cat Claw. I have an operator run my crawler dragging a rabbit size target on a 3 foot rope to different areas and distance. I get still shots and moving shots too. Haven't hit the crawler yet.
