Just make sure you’re shooting from the side. Do not try to do a brain headshot from straight on. Right between the eyes is a bad shot on the raccoon, I’ve done it. Look at the anatomy of the skull. You got a big fat round area behind the ear that you can get at from the side. The forehead is like armor plating.

What Flintsack says is true. My buddy shot this Ricky a week before it showed up at my house. He said he had a head on shot at it on his corn crib. He hit it with a 18gr pellet. Said it ran off but probably died. It didn’t but if you notice, it has a headlight out. I dropped it with a .25 slug to the dome. Upon further inspection the poor thing had a half healed gash going from between its eyes right into the socket.
