Raccoon trying to get my chickens.

Working 2nd shift gives me too much free time after work as the family is sound asleep. I usually come out to my shop and work or just tinker. Tonight after returning home, I played with the FWB 300S at 10 meters and then got my Prod sighted in at 10 meters with polymags after a scope change. I am going to get it dialed in at 30 yards tomorrow, but wanted to get it close indoors to save pellets tomorrow.

I walked from my shop to the house to get a bite to eat and heard something in the hickory tree behind the chicken coop as I walked to the house. I quickly returned to the shop and grabbed the Prod and an LED light. Found this bandit hiding in the tree. This one ain't getting my chickens!!

18fpe with polymags put the smack down!!

I haven't had any trouble with raccoons since I piled up a few with .22 shorts. This was before I got my .25 marauder. I tried with a .177 daisy 1000 springer but it didn't kill them. Not that I witnessed anyway. My wife raises coturnix quail for eggs and meat, Serama chickens for eggs and meat, and full size chickens for eggs. The quail are Not the smartest of birds and the raccoons (trash pandas are what we call them) reach through the cage and rip quail through the wire at night. Damn those beasts!
