Raccoon Diapatch Problems

In Florida where I previously lived, I shot over a dozen with a TX200 in .22 caliber. I caught them using a Florida Game Warden's Havahart trap using dog food as bait. I had to nail the trap to a 4' x 4' piece of plywood cause they kept tipping it over to get the food.... instead of going in. I shot them point blank in the head with a flat wad cutter pellet. He told me Racoons can not be relocated in the trap....that was the law. One shot per coon is what it took with a 12 fpe .22 pellet.

To get their attention, I used a box fan and a suspended 80 % empty bag of dried dog food. I placed the box fan on my work bench in the garage. Then I cut a large hole in the bag and set up the fan to blow through the suspended bag and opened the garage door. The food's aroma alerted the critters and they came running. Some nights I caught three !
