Years back, Vortek advertised their seals were oversized intentionally so they could be sized to fit the bore of your particular rifle. Can only assume that is still true today.
I have been retired from tuning guns for quite a few years now, but back then, I always had better results from modified parachute ( factory) seals than the non parachute aftermarket seals. Every gun is different even same make and model !!
I custom built a couple R1 in .22 cal for hunting rifles, theyvwere awesome, fast lock time, 830 fps with 14.3 CP pellets, 3/4" groups at 50yds and used the old style Vortec parachute seals that most folks found to be failures as they turned on the piston . After much experimenting, I found that if the seal was positioned correctly and glued with goop they never moved and added 20-30 fps. Vortek stopped making them due to the turning issues, but if you can find some and use the goop method of positioning the seal, they are awesome !!!!
