Quietest setup for Leshiy 2 in .25?

The answer to my question is probably hidden in the leshiy 2 post somewhere, but I’m sorry guys, I don’t have the patience to read theough 159 pages of posts.
min in the market for a L2 in .25. Wondering what everyone is doing to quiet them down. I’ve heard they have quite the bark in stock form. S being as this will be my woods walking gun for squirrels and chippers, I’d like it to be somewhat quiet. I’m not taking mousefart, but i don’t want it scaring away what I’m shooting at, especially if I need that follow up shot.
thanks in advance!

I can’t really say what is the quietest, only what my experience was. I have a L2 in .25 with a 350mm barrel.

With the stock factory moderator it was loud. Really loud. Then I tried it without the factory Mod to see what was what. That was LOUD. Almost like .22LR loud. Hearing protection needed loud. I then mounted the Huma Mod40 moderator (along with the Akula handguard, but that’s just cosmetic with regards to sound. The Mod40 made a huge difference. I tried it with my 0dB and my DonnyFL FX .25 mods. The Mod40 was subjectively better than either of the other two. I also took out one of the sections of the Mod40 and it made little difference. However taking out two of the sections was too much. We were back to LOUD.

So, in summary, 0dB and DonnyFL FX mods were about the same, and both better than the Edgun L2 factory mod. The Huma Mod40 was undoubtably the best of the bounce.

By the way, I suspect the Huma Mod50 would be quieter still, but it’s just too big for my tastes.

What are you running for power in .25? That’s basically the setup I want. I’m bummed it adds so much length to the setup, but if I go the hornet route. I’m down to a 250mm barrel, and not sure how the efficiency will suffer at the same power level. My classic with 350mm barrel still fits in a backpack and I take it everywhere. I was hoping to do the same with the L2

With the Huma Mod40 my L2 is 35” long (not folded). With the factory mod it was 29.75” long, so about 5 1/4 inches more with the Mod40.

I am shooting the JSB 25.4 grain pellets at an average of 891 FPS for 44.8 Foot Pounds energy.

Thanks for all the replies guys. So looks like the 350mm barrel with mod40 is the way to go. Did y’all use the mod 40 with the EDgun barrel threads? Or the adapter to change it to 1/2 20unf? I’d like to use the plethora of moderators already in my possession including a mod40.

I used the adapter to get 1/2 20 UNF. The Mod40 thatI got had a 1/2 20 UNF thread

pretty sure if you get it from egw, you can get it with the threads for the edgun.

I got mine from Edgun West. He included the 1/2-20 UNF adapter in the box along with the Mod40

So to open another can of worms, I was thinking of going with.22 instead for cheaper and more plentiful ammo choices. Also higher shot count, and flatter trajectory.
thoughts? Opinions?

For any given barrel length and moderater setup the .22 will also be quieter than .25 or .30

Is this a thumbs up for the .22? Lol

I have a .25, 350mm. I wanted the look and feel of the carbon fiber handguard. I tested many moderators... spent a fortune buying/selling and shipping moderators. I have stuck with the Mod40 long, but do not use the extra baffle section. My gun is set for 50 ftlb, shooting the 34 grn pellets at 810 FPS. I find this setup very useful. A 14mm ID carbon tube from Amazon dresses up the exposed part of the barrel nicely.

This configuration is 21.5” folded and 33” unfolded.

The .22/350mm is wicked 👍
