Quieter than Hugget?

When first got into AGning, I bought one of the early Wildcats in 22. I have a Hugget on it and it quieter than sunshine. I have several guns w/ donny fl's.

Nothing I have touched hugget. Maybe it's because they're 25's. I'm going to try something else on any future changes.

Suggestions?
Hugget’s hard to beat in lower cal. I tried Trident recently-quiet and built solid

huma mod compact 40 with center section out is very nice also

Keyman asked for opinions of moderators quieter than the Huggett.

Here, I'll quote from the link I provided above and underline all the various ways I answered Keyman's original question. Hope that helps (I answered Keyman's question and listed all of those I've compared Huggetts to or against, for context.)

No derailment intended, just answering Keyman's question.......the summary was that, to my ear and from those in the list, the only one quieter than a Huggett was the Hogan Decimeater.

The following was from the link I originally answered the question with....
"I've spent time shooting with....
  • Huggett Snipe
  • 0Db (Standard size? It was probably about 30mm and 6 inches long)
  • DONNY Sumo
  • DONNY Tatsu
  • Hogan Decimeter
  • Taipan OEM shroud/moderator
  • TKO
  • Rocker 1 (GTA)

My favorite option is the Taipan shroud/baffle system. Amazing design keeps things concentric, short, and QUIET. Can't ever understand why guys put a big can on the end of the Veteran shroud.

For add on options, the Hogan was/is the quietest I've shot with. High quality, thick aluminum baffles, overall heavier duty than all the rest. But pretty ho hum in the looks dept, just a glossy black cylinder.

The Snipe and 0DB tie for second place hushing level in the add-on category. Both are snazzy though, to the eye.

The TKO is mighty quiet for the size (roughly thumb diameter).

Rocker 1s with the 3d printed baffles are the best bargain, quieting down considerably, but not as much as the mass produced moderators.

Donny Tatsu is great when you want a short add-on, but it doesn't quiet down the report very good, disappointing in that regard actually. Sumo was also disappointing for it's sound reduction, considering its size.

Donny's, Nuggets, and 0DB are likely the most aesthetically pleasing, having the cool factor. I used to bass fish a lot as a kid. I'd come home with a new lure and show it to my dad, youthfully all excited to try it out. He'd say, "some lures are meant to catch fisherman, not fish."

To answer original question (and in the context of add-ons) I still have the Hogan and the TKO. Hogan cuz it's the quietest and the most solidly built, TKO lives on my old Benji Discovery, more for nostalgia than anything else. Sold all the rest mentioned above (except for the Vet shrouds/moderators)."

Huh? How is supplying a link that answers the question poor etiquette?
The link answered the question. You just failed to read it, or at least failed to read it carefully enough to comprehend it.
You're so itchy trigger finger to start something with me from past arguments that you didn't slow down enough to digest what I said in the link.
Who's doing the derailing?

Well, if we're analyzing the Hugget, it would be helpful to have comparative tests with at least some measure of objectivity.

🔶 ➔ The linked PDF gives the results of 13 silencer comparison tests (left side of the table), and some include the Hugget.
The test protocols of each silencer test are found after the table (power, caliber, etc.).

This was a test I did the other night With my my Dreamline classic shooting .177 @ 880fps. The Weihrauch was hands down the winner.

Trevor,

thank you for sharing your silencer test results. 👍🏼😊

If you are interested that your test results get in the hands of many more airgunners — I'd be happy to include them in the next edition of the Silencer Specs Table, already in the works.
The PDF gives you an idea what info I might need to do that.

Gents, I appreciate it very much that we are working toward solving our personal frictions.

🔸️It's real easy to misunderstand each other or overreact in a virtual environment — because it's only words we transmit — no tone of voice, no volume, no smiles, no eye contact....
Peace.

Matthias 😊
Yeah Old Spook asked the moderators to delete all of his inflammatory and derogatory comments.

The first mod did so, and added a "stop the trolling behavior" in place of what he was asked to delete.

Old Spook then seems to have found a second moderator to delete his comments completely, including the admonishment to not be a troll.

All that makes it tough for anybody that comes along behind to follow what actually went down when they can only see one side of the conversation. Sorry guys, not the first time I've seen this happen to a topic when he gets involved.

Meanwhile, this discussion is supposed to be about what silencers are quieter than a Huggett. Which is the question I originally answered. I'm still trying to figure out how it went the direction it did.

So, lets get back to discussion about airgun silencers. Jeesh.
